January is a bit of a rubbish month really isn’t it. Even if you’re good with money it is still not the best. The long pay day, the short daylight, the weather. Not much about January is cheery. Personally I like the new year. I like to set my goals for the year. I also love to spring clean my home. Besides that though I can see why people find January depressing. By this point in the month I’m looking forward to January being over. The New Year is the ideal time to think about what you want to achieve for the year. New Year, New You and all that!
Being frugal is a fantastic way to save money for your household. Money saving is nearly as important to me as money making. By keeping a tight control on our household finances (mostly) and our expenses we have more money. This means that I need to earn less money to cover the essentials. In turn this means more money for saving for a house, having a holiday or buying a reliable car. The little savings really do add up and this is why I like the Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week linky.
Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week – 13th January
I’m really excited for 2017. My blog has gone so much in the last year. Traffic to my website has tripled in the past year and the last few months of 2016 were amazing for me. I was featured by the BBC News website, I was on BBC Radio and so many other amazing things happened for me. As I’m someone who loves to hold themselves accountable in life I want to set my Blogging goals for 2017.
My Blogging goals for 2017
Boost my social media
I want to boost my social media this year. Social media isn’t something that I used to focus on. I figured that these things would build with time. Now I’m really pleased with how well things have gone but I want to see what I can achieve when I put some effort in.
I want to boost my Twitter to 10,000 followers.
Also, I want to boost my Facebook to 7,500 likes.
I want to boost my Instagram to 3,500 followers.
I’m thinking these are all pretty big aims, however, I am motivated!
Increase my DA
I want to boost my DA to 35+. Now this shouldn’t be too difficult for me now. I’ve actually got to 34 now, thanks to the most recent update. This was an increase of 6 points, from 28. I was really pleased with this and hope that things will continue to grow for Katykicker.com in 2017.
Make it into the top 250 on Tots100
I’m sitting at 408 now. I have risen from 949 (my first entry into the charts) to 408. I’m really enjoying looking at the updates of the Tots100 ranking each month. There are some amazing bloggers featured on the Tots100 and I want to see if I can make it into the top 250. I am mostly going to be working on this just by doing what I do now. Consistently posting, engaging with other bloggers and enjoying blogging.
Hit 750 blog posts
Now I think that this should be relatively easy. I feel like I am constantly writing down new ideas for blog content. Since having my daughter I’ve been SO busy and these last few months back working I’ve got really motivated. This year I’ll be blogging about parenting, lifestyle, all things related to money and much more.
Double my traffic
Based on this year I should be able to hit this. I’m hoping to double my sessions, views AND unique users. This is something that I’m going to do by working on great SEO, using social media and more. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the year brings for me.
These are my Blogging goals for 2017. I’m really looking forward to this year. I think the start of a year is a great time to get yourself motivated for the year ahead. I’m setting out my goals for my blog, my life and everything in between over the coming days. There is nothing quite like getting organised and having something to work on!
Happy New Year! I hope that the year is kind to you. 2016 was a bit of a mixed year for me. We had a daughter, which was amazing. My Dad passed away, which wasn’t so great. Then there were other problems in between with my health, Daisy’s health and more. However, another year is over and I’m getting motivated for the year ahead! Today I want to share with you my Aims for January 2017. I love writing these posts each month and holding myself accountable.
Happy New Year!
I just wanted to take a moment, and a day on my blog, to thank my readers! Without you lovely people checking in daily, weekly, whenever, my life wouldn’t be where it is now. I’m truly blessed everyday to be able to sign in to my website and talk about anything I want – best of all people actually read it! I’m regularly surprised at the little details that people glean from my website and about my personal life. I’ve met people in public who have read my blog, and recognised me despite my Mum clothes and hair! I’ve met people online who have been fantastic for me and I have for them too.
I love my blog. Honestly! It is one of the best things to ever happen to life besides the obvious. Anyone can have their own little space on the web but I love mine. I’ve even trademarked Katykicker – it truly is mine now!
I thoroughly enjoy talking to my readers on social media. I love keeping my readers updated on what I am doing each and every day. Whether it is sharing a photograph of my daughter Daisy on Instagram, linking to my latest blog post on Facebook or talking about todays goals on Twitter I’m often around! There are quite a few lovely readers who email me regularly too (especially you Dave – hello!) and I love hearing more about my readers and what brings them back.
Thanks to all my lovely readers I don’t have to do anything else now for work. I can focus full time on my blog. I’ve already wound down some of my freelance work that I used to do and I am looking forward to even more time for my blog in 2017! Thanks to each and every one of you who reads my posts, clicks my links, leaves comments and contacts me on social media. Without you people I would have given up a long time ago I’m sure! Don’t worry, I’ll still be finding those great ways to make money online and sharing them here. Money is money after all and I LOVE to help people!
