Our 2017 bucket list – a final look at what we achieved!

Well another year seems to have flown by! Every month I cannot believe another month has passed by and every year I really do feel the same. Life seems to zip by in a myriad of errands! We have had a fantastic year and I’m really happy looking back on our 2017 bucket list. While we have not achieved all of our wishes for 2017 there have been good reasons for some of the failures. Others not so much..! Anyway, here is a final look at our 2017 bucket list!

Our 2017 bucket list - a final look at what we have completed and what we have not completed. Bucket list ideas for families

As you can see from our final look at our 2017 bucket list – we achieved 15/25 items. Not too bad! Especially as this was our first full year as parents and my first year working as a parent too!

Now some of the failures are obvious…

Buy a car. We didn’t need to. Our car is still ticking over nicely.

Lose 2 stone. I like food. Think I’ve managed to end the year around 10lbs lighter than the start. This is better than nothing!

Attend a concert. I had booked Adele. It was canceled. Sad times.

Go to Paris. We didn’t fancy this in the end because of all the terrorist activity there and us having a young baby.

Then there were some failures that are a bit rubbish…

Go on a picnic.

Go to the cinema.

We just never seemed to get around to these. I’m not sure why really. Maybe we weren’t that bothered..! I DID have pretend picnics at home with Daisy, and carpet picnics too, but we didn’t get to the cinema. Which is just ridiculous!

We didn’t go on a boat ride as each time we went on holiday the weather was a bit rubbish. Next year we are going away in April so hoping to get a chance to do this then!

Anyway, it is what it is. I think 15/25 is not too shabby! I’m quite pleased with the fun family days out we had. If you fancy a little nosy at some of the activities, holidays and days out we enjoyed then here you go:

Trip to The Shard

Stayed at Manor of Groves and ate at La Brasserie there

Carried out lots of random acts of kindness and what I learned after a year of doing so

We are going to have another bucket list for 2018 and I’m really excited. It is lovely to sit down with Thomas, making a list, and planning some nice activities for us as a family.

I think you’ve achieved a lot, and the things you haven’t seem to be things that aren’t necessary (like the car) or easy enough ones for next year (the cinema, though you’ve saved money by not going!) I think I’m too scared to review my 2017 list because there will be far too many ‘failures’ I haven’t done! I think the list for next year will be a long one…

Well done for managing over half! Sometimes it is the little things like a picnic that get put off so you can do bigger things, or they just drop off your radar.
