The end of August. Woosh. There goes another month! Mad isn’t it sometimes. When I write these posts I am always shocked at just how fast the time has gone. Also, if I’ve had a great month, like I have this month, that shocks me more. Being motivated, and organised, works really well for me, and my family. I love holding myself accountable and sharing my results with you. My Aims for August 2017 results post is now live.

Home aims for August 2017 – the results

Try 5 new recipes. Achieved. I blogged about a few! Slow cooker chicken nachos, ultimate lazy tuna fishcakes and then I tried a new ragu recipe, brownie recipe & baked a cake.

Sell or donate 20 items. Achieved. This was super simple this month. I de-cluttered Daisy’s toys. A few items went on eBay, and the rest went to charity.

Meal plan all month. Achieved. This was easy but most importantly it was fun! We had lots of lovely meals. I felt in control every day so that was good too.

Get rid of all of Daisy’s old clothes / shoes. Achieved. I sold some items on eBay. The proceeds, after fees and postage, weren’t high, but I managed to put £30 in her holiday savings. Also, I boxed up a load of items for a friend and sent those off too. I’m not overly worried about making lots of money back it was more to de-clutter.

Financial aims for August 2017 – the results

Spend less than £200 on groceries. Achieved. I used Tesco most of the month, and Morrisons once. I managed to spend £181, for everything including pet food and nappies. This was good and we ate high quality meat and nice food every day.

Make £600+ from matched bettingAchieved. I only just scraped over this, as there were no big wins this month. My biggest slots win was £36, which I was pleased with. You can make money from the Premier League now football is back on – yay!

Add £100 to my Amazon account. Achieved. I completed a campaign on a blogging social media network. This was enough to add £100 to my Amazon account. I even managed to save £50 of it – hopefully towards Christmas!

Add £500 to Tom’s premium bonds. Achieved. We managed this. We also won £125 from my premium bonds – so that was nice!

Online aims for August 2017 – the results

Hit 8,000 on Twitter. Achieved. Done! I think I had completed this before the middle of the month. My Twitter is growing nicely at the moment. I’m not entirely sure what I’ve done but I’m just engaging with people regularly.

Hit 600 on Pinterest. Achieved. Done. Just about! I’m trying to schedule regular content on Pinterest from myself and others.

Keep my completed posts above 50. Achieved. Most of these have been scheduled for September but there are a few for November and December too!

Create pinnable images for 25 old posts. Achieved. This ties in with the above. One day I did 7 images, another day 5. Whenever I had a day without Daisy I created new pinnable images and updated the posts too. This means I’ve got lots more evergreen content now and posts are up to date.

Boost my affiliate income by 10%. Achieved. I wanted to focus on one network for this and I achieved it. I actually increased it by around 18% which is great. I’m very pleased.

Schedule posts for September. Achieved. Done! Simple as that. I’ve got most of the month scheduled already. So pleased!

Personal aims for August 2017 – the results

Arrange to cross 2 items off our bucket listAchieved. Firstly we went to Manor of Groves. Also, we grew flowers and brought them home! Yay!

Go to the allotment at least 6 times. Achieved. We’ve not had as much time as I thought this month, however, we’ve hit this goal. Just about!

Arrange a special day out for Tom. Achieved. We went to Manor of Groves, it was lovely! I’ve tied this in with the 2 items off the bucket list. We had a wonderful stay and it was great to be away from Daisy for a night and not worry about her, as she was with my Mum.

Read three books. Achieved. I’ve also started using Readly – to read magazines.

Go to the Doctor. Not needed. Around the 10th of the month my new medication finally started having a good effect. I’m feeling almost pain free, more mobile and much more positive. This is great and means I obviously didn’t need to go to the Doctor. Made a nice change!

Thanks so much Ellen! There is always room for improvement – just remember most things build up gradually in life so start with something small, then two small things and so on and you’ll get there!
