Hello! Happy August! I’m SO excited as 2/3 of August will be spent with Daisy at home, and I’m looking aorward to playing in the garden, new games & toys, film afternoons and baking too. Here are my aims for August 2020 – find out what I’d love to achieve during this lovely Summer month together.

Home aims for August 2020

Meal plan all month. This really helps us to stay on track. In July I stocked up the freezer with lots of great home made garlic breads, rolls, dough, treads, slow cooker jacket potatoes, no yeast flatbreads and lots more goodies so that will help us too! I’ll be using my mealtime inspiration post to remind me of some of our favourite dinners. Also, I’ve updated my meal planning tips recently if you need some inspiration!

Spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, burger and beef keema curry - easy beef mince recipes

Try 5 new recipes. I’m loving cooking from scratch, and as Daisy likes to get involved more recently I’m going to take advantage of this. I hope we will do lots more baking in August, especially once Daisy has left Nursery for a lovely Summer month before school starts!

Use my *breadmaker for 2 new recipes. I want to see if I can make a sourdough, and I may make a dough for slow cooker bread too, so I can see how that works.

Complete TeamTomm daily to keep my home clean and tidy. This is self explanatory really but I feel that a clean, tidy home really helps me mentally.

Zoflora disinfectant, cleaning cloth and pink rubber gloves

Do 15 hours of DIY and house jobs. We’ve made GREAT progress in July and I want to keep up the momentum! With Daisy home it’ll be a little harder but I hope to have a few hours childcare once a week at least, so I’m planning on making the most of that.

Financial aims for August 2020

Complete 2 hours of matched betting each week. Same as last month really. Nothing huge, just a little extra income. I’ll be too busy with Daisy to focus on this property until September now.

Add £150 to my Amazon account so I can buy more items off my house wishlist. I’ve got a HUGE wishlist of good looking items I’ve seen on TikTok and Instagram and I want to make another dent in those! It has been lovely to get our home organised, and it is time to start making it a little more homely now. Find out what I have been buying by looking in my *Amazon Shop!

Spend £300 or less on groceries. We have been having *Gousto boxes, and may do for another week or two yet, then I’ll be going shopping myself each week for a few weeks to run down the fridge and freezer ready for swapping the door over! (It needs to be empty).

Add £200 to my round up pot. I’m using the money towards our 2021 house purchase (hopefully!) and when my washing machine finally packs up (had a few problems with it since we moved house!).

Pay the final money back to my savings I used to buy a new Macbook. Just a few hundred to go. I’ve mostly been paying this back using money from Prolific surveys, but I need to make a little more effort really.

Online aims for August 2020

Update 20 old posts. I’ve really been enjoying delving into some 2015 and 2016 posts and giving them a BIG overhaul. How I manage money, and my opinions on lots of things, has really changed in the last 4-5 years and it’s been great to read back. Also, some of my posts were absolutely awful, so it feels nice to be getting those updated and back in the good books with Google too!

Write 2 new recipes. I’ve got LOTS of recipes I’m working on, but I love to test them out a few times before I share them, just to be sure that people won’t waste food when they cook one of my recipes, and waste their money!

Slow cooker chicken tikka masala, slow cooker whole chicken, chicken pie and slow cooker chicken & prawn paella recipes

Complete 5 random acts of kindness online. I’m loving this and have been finding some surprisingly lovely ways to help others, and get that nice glow at the same time!

Personal aims for August 2020

8,000 steps daily. I want to keep up the walking more and moving more.

Read 2 books. I’ve got one book I’m working on already, and I’m reading a race related book too, and then I want to have something motivational if I can find something suitable.

4 workouts a week. I’m loving The Body Project on YouTube at present, and hope to continue working out super regularly, even with Daisy home. Sometimes she even joins me for a few minutes!

There you have it – my aims for August 2020! I’m hoping that this is going to be a productive month, but a great one to spend with my family too. I’m looking forward to 4 weeks with Daisy before she starts school. She seems to be growing more intelligent by the day and I’m just reminding myself what a blessing it is to be alive to see my daughter start school. Have a lovely month!
