May is going to be a bit of a busy month for us! As well as Thomas’ Birthday I am having an operation mid-month. I’m a little nervous about how long the recovery time is going to be, mostly because I won’t know until I wake up what type of operation I’ve had – keyhole or a re-opening of my c-section. Anyway, here are my Aims for May 2019.

Aims for May 2019

Home aims for May 2019

Meal plan all month. I want us to stay on track financially and this is always a big help. Plus it keeps us away from the takeaway which is always good!

Try 3 new recipes. I’m going to go back and have another look through my *slow cooker cookbook. Recently I’ve made a slow cooker hunters chicken and lots of other delicious recipes.

Make a start on taking down shelves, photos and other items. This gives us time to make a start on cleaning/packing and also filling the walls and re-painting. This will mean there are fewer jobs to do when we have a date for moving – which I hope we will finally get this month! If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll know we’ve had a lot going on with a big problem at the council. It appears to be resolved now so hopefully, we will be near the top of the bidding list soon! It is really a numbers game and just comes down to how many houses are available each week.

Financial aims for May 2019

Spend less than £250 on groceries. Self-explanatory really! We have quite a few cupboard bits but the freezer is looking pretty bare!

Shop at Aldi each week. This will help with the above aim and help our finances too. Find out what happened last year when I swapped Tesco for Aldi.

Make more effort with matched betting and paid surveys. It can be easy to let these fall by the wayside when I am working on my blog so much. I don’t have a specific goal this month but would just like to check in and make a little money each day I am online.

Get my £2,000 savings up to £750+! I’m only just at my first £100, so this is going to be quite a stretch. I will be selling unwanted items on eBay and completing lots of the little ways to make and save money that I know about.

Add £100 to my Amazon account. I will earn this from paid surveys mostly. I want to start saving for when we move. Hopefully, we will have a nice little garden and so my Amazon fund will pay towards water toys, a paddling pool and whatever else we want to get for Daisy.

Online aims for May 2019

Increase my page views by 10%. I don’t usually worry about this type of thing but I am hoping this goal will push me to work on some SEO changes I know I need to make. There is SUCH a big potential for additional traffic on this blog, from posts that already exist.

Find lovely blogs to comment on every day just to be nice to other bloggers! I enjoy reading blogs and it is always nice to get a comment I think!

Schedule content for June. Ideally at least 10 posts including meal plans. This will help me when I am recovering from my operation. I’m a bit nervous about how long I am going to be ‘out of action’ so to speak but I’m really grateful that I work for myself.

Personal aims for May 2019

Continue to exercise each day. I have been doing this for maybe 6 or 7 weeks now. I have slowed down when being unwell, but I’m getting right back into it now and loving it. I feel more flexible, strong and even my motivation is increased.

Read at least 3 books. I’ve been enjoying reading recently and have been fortunate to be sent some fantastic books. You can find out what I’ve been reading in my Likes and Loves post.

Enjoy at least 2 days out as a family. They don’t have to be fancy, or expensive, but just an excuse to have a day off work and spend some nice time together.

Arrange 2 items off our bucket list. I was going to post an update soon, but realised that we’ve achieved next to nothing so far this year – oops!

So there you have it – my aims for May 2019! Hopefully it’ll be a good month for me and my operation will go well.
