We absolutely love using our air fryer. It is a great, convenient way to heat up frozen foods, without additional effort or oil. Also, when preparing meals from scratch it is a great way to help cut some calories and still enjoy crispy, delicious, golden brown food.

I am a busy Mum of 2, who loves a hot meal, and sometimes I just want to indulge in a little junk food, without the expense of Uber Eats or Deliveroo! If you REALLY want to up the ante then enjoy these alongside an air fryer grilled cheese for the ultimate cheesy delicious meal OR serve on the side of air fryer frozen chicken nuggets.

Knocking up these cheesy chips in the air fryer are a great way to hit the spot when I’m craving some junk food, but don’t want to go all out on the spending, or the calories. Also, using the air fryer allows these cheesy chips to be made in record time – perfect when I’m craving something salty and delicious!

Air fryer cheesy chips

Ingredients for air fryer cheese fries:

400g chips of your choice – I often make air fryer chips, but this recipe is based on using frozen french fries or frozen chips. For best results I love to use steak cut frozen chips. They have a large surface area and so they can hold lots of cheese!

30g finely grated cheddar cheese – or other cheese of your choice. Mozzarella would work really well, and give you that wonderful cheese pull too!

10g parmesan or pecorino

1/8 tsp salt

What chips do you put in an air fryer?

Absolutely any! For this recipe I personally love to use frozen steak cut chips. They have a great surface area, ideal for lots of cheese, and this makes them comfortable to hold if you don’t want to use cutlery.

You could use frozen french fries, triple cooked chips or even make your own by following my recipe linked below.

Can you make homemade chips in airfryer?

Yes! I have a great, simple air fryer chips recipe that is very popular! It takes just a few minutes to prepare the chips and they are always healthier than shop bought, as they aren’t covered in oil.
