Batch cooking is something that I love to do. It saves time, effort and sometimes money too. I avoid ordering a takeaway by keeping simple items on hand to use, such as frozen salmon, for air fryer frozen salmon, that I can cook in minutes and in just 10 minutes.
Making a marinade is very simple, and I have a variety of different ones that I use. I love to use garlic butter mostly, as I have this in my freezer most of the time.
I’ll share some other dressing ideas below, so be sure to take a look!

Ingredients for air fryer frozen salmon:
2 frozen salmon fillets (Approximately 110g each)
Dressing of choice – I used garlic butter
Spray oil
Method for air fryer frozen salmon:
Set the air fryer to 200C (390F).
Place your frozen salmon in the air fryer basket. You can use a layer of foil (if it’s temperature safe) on the bottom of the air fryer basket, although I don’t bother with this and instead just use a little spray oil to lubricate the basket.
Cook for 8 minutes.
Spread the butter or marinade of your choice over the top of the salmon.
Cook for another 8 minutes.
Serve and enjoy! If you’ve got any marinade left then you can brush a little more on the top, BUT ensure that you’ve kept this separate from the marinade or dressing you used halfway through, as you don’t want to contaminate with raw salmon juices!
Do you have to flip salmon in the air fryer?
Yes, I would recommend recommend this for the most even cooking. Also, when flipping it over you can apply a little more of your favourite sauce, butter or marinade.
Can you cook frozen breaded salmon in the air fryer?
Yes, absolutely. As a rule of thumb I always start with 1/2 of the recommended cooking time on the packet, and then remove 10C from the cooking time.
Then if this is not sufficient I will move up to cooking for 2/3 of the cooking time, which always seems to work great if 1/2 the time is not enough.
Want some delicious marinade ideas for salmon?
I’ve got a few lovely salmon dressings that I use. My current favourites are:
A little fresh lemon juice with cracked black pepper and dill.
Garlic butter (I use homemade but shop bought is fine too!)
Soy sauce with fresh ginger
Honey and soy sauce
Teriyaki sauce (I just buy ready made!)
