Wow, the end of 2017 is here. I can hardly believe it! At the beginning of the year I made blogging goals for my blog for 2017. Now I’m back to let you know how I got on, and what I did and didn’t achieve.
Blogging goals for 2017 – the results!
Boost my social media – Bit failure here!
I wanted to boost my Twitter to 10,000 followers. At the time of writing this post, I still need around 600 followers. Failed…! Always tomorrow for a miracle to occur!
Also, I wanted to boost my Facebook to 7,500 likes. Failed too. Oops. This was just really unrealistic. To be honest I struggled really with Facebook. I only gained maybe 500 followers all year. I think this is because a number of my followers were just compers who have cut back on the pages they follow. So while I’ve gained a couple of thousand followers I’ve lost 1,500 odd too.
I wanted to boost my Instagram to 3,500 followers. Failed too. Well this is a great start isn’t it..! I just didn’t love Instagram much this year. I’ve been getting back into it the last few months but it was a bit late to hit 3,500 I think!
Increase my DA
I wanted to get my DA to 35. Achieved. It is currently 39. This means that I get lots of backlinks from other websites and my links are seen as being fairly trustworthy.
Make it into the top 250 on Tots100
At the beginning of the year, I was at 408. Achieved. I’ve made it into the top 250 since then, and even the top 100. My highest ranking has been 85 so far!
Hit 750 blog posts
Well, that was pretty easy… Even though I deleted some old dire content. Achieved. Hoping to continue the same sort of posts next year. Parenting, lifestyle, money, everything that I personally love to talk about!
Double my traffic
When I had a look at the beginning of December I was at a 98.77% increase on last year, so I’ve beaten it by the time this goes live! Woohoo! I’m so pleased! Achieved!
2017 has been a fantastic year for my family, my blog and my finances. I’m really motivated for 2018 now and looking forward to getting started on my next year’s aims! Check back in a few days if you want to read those.
Happy New Year to you!
