At Christmas time my husband and I can’t wait to get decorating! We don’t do it insanely early – mostly because we have cats. I’m certain that if we decorated much earlier that by the end of the festive period my cats would be living in the tree and would have claimed it for their own! A Christmas tree reveal is always one of the exciting part of Christmas for us!

I love it when my husband and I decorate together. We have been together for 9 years now and have enjoyed lots of wonderful Christmases together. we have lived together for 7 now – a figured I still find quite astounding!

Our Christmas decorations are a mixed bag really. We have a bit of a theme to our tree, sort of! Mostly we aren’t too fussy when it comes to a colour scheme. Typically we like traditional decorations. Our style is a little bit rustic too. For example our tree has cinnamon sticks, owls, snowballs, twigs, berries and more. I absolutely love it! The tree itself is flocked and while every year I have a little grumble about it I love it really. I have to vacuum a little more during December but that isn’t the end of the World really! Our tree looks beautiful and when I turn the lights on at night it really gets me in a festive mood. Every time. Without fail!

Today I am sharing with you our Christmas Tree Reveal

Christmas Tree Reveal

We have a bit of a collection of novelty Christmas toys now. If it sings, or dances, to a cheesy song then we are interested! Most of these toys are activated by touch, so they aren’t plying constantly. This is great as I am easily annoyed by things like that! We also ensure that our Christmas novelty toys last through the years by removing batteries before we pack them away. We also use rechargeable batteries to save a little bit of money too.

In the last two years or so we have begun to work on owning a model village. So far we have a few nice ornaments; including a carousel!

As we have been fortunate enough to have a daughter this year we have bought and received several lovely ornaments. We have been so excited about placing these on our tree this year! I still can’t really believe we have been lucky enough to have a daughter, after all our years of waiting to conceive.

One of the little traditions that we enjoy is putting the star on the tree together. We have done this every single year since we moved in together. This year we have had our amazing daughter to do this with us – it was even more emotional for me!

We love Christmas!

I love Christmas time and for me, and my family, it is about more than just giving presents. Spending time together, caring about others and snuggling together by the Christmas tree are all activities we love at Christmas time.

My husband has several days off work this year, which is unusual. I can’t wait now! Before we know it our daughter’s first Christmas will finally be here. Santa will have left her a few little presents under the Christmas tree. We aren’t going to be overspending on Daisy’s presents and her ‘main’ present will be this lovely little In The Night Garden train. I can’t wait to see her play with it!

You’ve got me all emotional now! It took us a couple of years to fall pregnant with our eldest who’s now 10, I remember that first Christmas so clearly. Treasure every second! We now have two more children and Christmas is the most magical time. I wouldn’t change a thing 🙂

I love you to Pete.” That was the nic name my grandfather gave me when I was my sons age. No one has ever called me that and I had yet to say it to my son. My mom heard him and she asked, “What did he say?” A little spooked I said nothing.BTW- I like the fact that you call your daughter The Girl. Since my son was 2 days old when I am talking about or asking about him I always call him The Boy.
