One of the best parts about Christmas for me has to be the food! I’m a lover of food – as anyone who has seen my Instagram will probably know. I love the delicious food on offer at Christmas time. Christmas breakfast is always a big deal in our house. Usually it is designed to tide us over until the main event – Christmas Dinner.

As there will be quite a lot of food preparation to do we want our Christmas Breakfast to be filling. I am going to share with you a few of the options that we have enjoyed in years gone by.

Our Christmas Breakfasts from the past

Bacon sandwich – Now this is nice and simple. It takes just minutes to fry bacon, or 20 minutes to cook it in the oven. You could even get this ready the night before. It is quick, and convenient, to eat. It tastes good and who doesn’t love bacon?!

Full English – A good old traditional full english is always a nice Christmas Breakfast. One of the reasons that we have stopped having this recently is this is a breakfast that we enjoy at least once a month anyway. I want Christmas Breakfast to feel special – also, I don’t want to have to do loads of washing up. There is already enough calories generated by Christmas Dinner so I want something a little lighter really! My airfryer hash browns or oven baked hash browns are a great way to reduce the saturated fat a little!

Smoked salmon – This is one for my husband really. He has enjoyed smoked salmon a few times now. This is quite a simple, and convenient Christmas Breakfast. It doesn’t take long to prepare and it can be on the healthy side if you enjoy it with eggs or a lightly toasted bagel.

Pancakes and maple syrup. I couldn’t ignore pancakes and maple syrup! This is another Christmas Breakfast that is ideal served with bacon – preferably streaked smoky bacon.

Selection box – This is a classic from my childhood. I can remember many years spent opening my stocking and eating a miniature fudge from my selection box. Of course the fudge bars are even smaller now – but still just as delicious! Who doesn’t love chocolate for breakfast on Christmas Day?!

If you can’t enjoy what you like for Christmas Breakfast then when can you?! These are just a selection of the tasty breakfasts that we have enjoyed over the last few years living together. I can’t wait to see what we decide on this Christmas. I’ve really been enjoying writing these #Blogmas posts and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading this one!

If you enjoyed this post I’d love it if you could pin it on Pinterest!

I am curious, are British style baked beans are as sweet as the US? I could eat breakfast anytime of the day. My mother used to get up an hour early to make sure us kids had a full breakfast. It was wonderful.

Yummy meals right there ... I'd like a full English definitely. We don't do special Christmas breakfast but I'd gladly eat it if prepared by someone else. Wishing you all the best with your breakfast choice this year; I'm sure it would be something lovely. :-)

Thanks for stopping by! I've decided this year we are keeping it simple. Chocolate chip pancakes - going to prep in advance so just a quick go in the toaster!! Have a great Christmas x
