Enjoying a real Christmas tree even in a small space (AD – Gifted)

We were gifted the featured item in exchange for coverage. I’ve made no secret of it but we live in a very small home. At present we are in a one-bedroom-flat and we are always working on de-cluttering, organising and cleaning to keep our home pristine. Having piles of clutter around can feel overwhelming at times and this is why I work hard on keeping our home as tidy and organised as possible. We have never had a real Christmas tree in our 8 Christmases living together, until this year! We have been gifted a tree from Pines and Needles and I’m going to give you a look at it and share my thoughts on the quality.

Real Christmas tree

As you can see we’ve gone for quite a small tree this year, due to our limited space. Just to be able to fit our Christmas tree in I have to clean my desk off and pack away lots of little bits like my printer! We ordered a 3ft Nordmann Fir for our real Christmas tree and absolutely love it!

When our tree arrived it came by courier, and we received the tree, a water holding stand and a complimentary mini Christmas tree, that Daisy had a great time decorating! The courier brought our real Christmas tree up to the front door (we live on the 3rd floor) and everything came well wrapped.

Unwrapping our real Christmas tree there were a LOT of loose pine needles, obviously from where it had been bashed around a little in transit. We didn’t need to worry though as it was easy to shake off the loose needles and then get the tree into place. My husband had to saw a little off the bottom of the tree, to ensure the tree drinks the water when in the stand and lasts right through December.

In the above photograph, you can see all of the needles that have fallen off the tree in 3 days. Not bad at all!

A look at our real Christmas tree

As you can see our real Christmas tree is really full and lush. It has an amazing smell, that you only get from having a real Christmas tree in December. It was so simple to put it into place and start decorating. There was no faffing at all and we didn’t have to click any branches in place or find pieces in our hall cupboard like we would with our usual artificial Christmas tree.

It’s actually working out really well having our 3ft Christmas tree up on my desk. I work from the sofa most of the time anyway and there are other areas of our home I can work from if I need to. As our Christmas tree is up high it is simple to use the handheld part of my Shark to vacuum up the needles. Also, Daisy cannot trash the Christmas tree and can just admire it instead.

Our little home is actually not a bad size, it just doesn’t have a big amount of natural light. If we had modern rooflights I’d feel much happier staying here while we saved for a bigger home. I just hate that we only have a couple of windows in our whole home. It’s a bit depressing!

You’ve still got lots of time to buy your own real Christmas tree! Head over to the Pines and Needles website where you can find trees from 3ft to 12ft with the minimal dropping of needles and a wonderful smell too!

I know that the tree is going to last well as my Mum had a Christmas tree last year from Pines and Needles and it lasted right until the end of the year while still looking and smelling fantastic.

If you enjoyed this post I’d love it if you could pin it on Pinterest!

2018 Christmas Gift Guide for Pets (AD – Gifted)

We were gifted all of the featured items in exchange for coverage. Our pets were really our babies before our daughter was born. We have cats, fish and a turtle. We also have a family dog, that we spend time with. I love to treat our pets, as I do the rest of our family, at Christmas time. Today I want to share with you a selection of the items that we will be gifting to our family pets, in my 2018 Christmas Gift Guide for Pets.

Our cat Izzy really is the Queen of all of our pets. Izzy is the first to be fed, even over her cat sister Jasmine. Izzy was diagnosed at birth with a heart defect, and we expected her to die a long time ago, but she keeps ticking over and living the lazy life. This shark pet bed, from Cool Stuff, is perfect for her. It has a large opening, giving her lots of room to climb inside, and it’s super soft inside. The bed within is removable, which is perfect for giving it a weekly refresh. You can even press this down flat if need be, to store it away. It says that this is hand wash only, but I’ve already washed it on a hand wash cycle in my machine and it has held up great! I love how easy this is to wipe over too.
