My little girl is already 13 months old. Every single month I just cannot believe that another month has passed us by. It feels like a lifetime since I last wrote one of these posts but really it is just one month. Mad! This last month has been filled with ups and downs for us, but we are here and that is the main thing! Daisy is 13 months old – where has the time gone?
Look at my little messy girl! We’ve had lots of days where we have been sitting at home together, in our PJs, feeling sorry for ourselves.

Weight at 13 months old
There has been basically no weight gain for Daisy in the last month. At 13 months old Daisy is 10kg. While this is a nice weight, for her age, it means she has fallen down the centiles. We are awaiting a dietician referral and Daisy has had a few bouts of illness. I am confident that she will be climbing up the centiles again soon!
Health at 13 months old
Daisy has had her one year vaccinations recently. These went well. However, in the last month Daisy has had a cold, a virus and a febrile convulsion too. It hasn’t been a great month for health, at all! We’ve had to miss several swimming lessons because of her illnesses and I hope that we are over the worst of it now!
Daisy had a febrile convulsion, when her temperature was more than 102F and it came on really suddenly. It lasted for 10 minutes. It doesn’t seem like there have been any lasting effects but it has still been a scary time for us.
Sleep at 13 months old
I feel like Daisy has not slept well at all, for the past month. Lots of time has been spent with us all feeling exhausted. Daisy has been avoiding naps more, needing more cuddles to have a nap and waking in the night. Everything has gone to pot lately, because of illness. On the rare days Daisy has been well she has been sleeping well and napping too. I hope those days will be back properly soon! We are still using our bedtime routine to keep Daisy used to the good routine. She does go down at 6 still but often wakes up crying or being sick in the night. Not great.
Daisy is 13 months old – this is what she has been loving this month
Daisy’s favourite toys this month have been:
Daisy got this for her 1st Birthday from my lovely sister. She has been enjoying it since – even if I think it sounds a little bit creepy!
Daisy has had this since before Christmas. She loves it. We’ve just rotated her toys again this week so this is getting lots of use.
Daisy is a fan of the Twirlywoos now and this is one of the new toys that she has received in the last month. This makes a quack sound and when the television show came on my husband made it fly out from the back of the television. Daisy was amazed and it was adorable!
We picked this up in Centerparcs last month with some of Daisy’s Birthday money. She received a nice amount of money so we let her choose a few suitable gifts and the rest went in to her savings account. This is a bath set, with bath squirters. Daisy hasn’t worked out that she can use them to squirt water yet but she has great fun with it anyway!
This is a source of great fun when it arrived last month. Daisy loves climbing through and best of all it can be folded down when it is time to tidy up.
Dislikes at 13 months old
Nothing new really. Same old teething gripes but nothing new.
At 13 months old the newest milestones are:
Taking steps confidently from place to place
Standing for 10 minutes or more without falling
Increasing her vocabulary. As well as Mum, Dad and Daisy she also says Nanny, Izzy, Billie (her Auntie) and a few other clear words.
Babbling long sentences with real words in
Bending down to pick up items and standing back up
Drinking from a cup
Lifting heavy items to turf them out of her *Summer Infant playpen or cot
Daisy’s hair is becoming lighter and it is really growing thick now
This is what we have been up to in the past month:
Daisy has grown up so much this month! As well as turning one she’s making lots of sentences, saying more words and she’s miles happier too. We had a wonderful week together and now we are back to real life! Swimming and vaccinations next week – first I’ve got my first ever Mother’s Day to enjoy! ??
We had a lovely break to Centerparcs! Can’t wait to go again on Monday (to a different one).
Another shot from our holiday!
Daisy wore this cute outfit!
We went to Pets Corner to see the animals.
We’ve had great fun while we waited for Thomas to have his eye test and choose new glasses (expensive!). We went to our allotment afterwards and although I’m under the weather (yes, again…!) we did lots of cleaning and organising before we went out and picked up Pizza Express goodies (reduced) for a date night dinner at home tonight ? What have you done today?
Daisy tried on lots of glasses while we waited at Specsavers for Daddy (Thomas).
This last month has been a rough one to be honest. Daisy has been ill a lot. As have I. I’m hoping that now the warmer weather is coming that things are going to be looking up for us. We’ve got some nice plans for the weeks ahead and I’m hoping for lots of rest and family time. Our allotment needs lots of work in the coming weeks so that is going to be fun to visit together as a family.
