AD. At the beginning of October we finally moved house. It was many months in the making, as you’ll know if you’re a long-time follower. Moving to our first house, and giving our flat back, has been such a busy and emotive time. Seeing Daisy playing in our own garden, and being able to have more space has been so good for our family. With the festive period rapidly approaching it is fair to say that life is VERY busy.

Recently we have been making a few small changes to our routines, to help manage our finances and keep the normal day-to-day activities of life running successfully amidst the decorating, organising and unpacking. Today I want to share with you how we are saving time on the top-up shop with Esso, and taking full advantage of the Esso Nectar loyalty programme too.

Saving time on the top-up shop with Esso

We live in a different part of town now, meaning we have new local shops, one of which is an Esso branded service station. Here, we can keep our new car in tip-top condition by checking the tyre pressure, withdraw cash to pay tradespeople completing jobs around our home, refuel and complete a top-up shop for bread, milk and a few treats too!

As the festive season creeps up on us Thomas and I find ourselves increasingly busy with work and family commitments. I love to get a food shop delivered weekly, to save money and time, but with so many visitors to our new home, we are often running out of family staples mid-week. Rather than trying to meet a minimum spend for another home delivery we have been popping out for a mid-week top-up shop instead.

With Esso being just a 2-minute drive or 8-minute walk from home we are able to pop in store and stock up on milk, bread and a nice packet of biscuits for visitors too. It’s really convenient, and quick, to nip down to our local Esso and pick up our supplies rather than having to set aside time to drive to a supermarket a little further away. As our local Esso branded service station is open 24 hours a day we can pop in on our way home from a family day out to refuel and by using the Esso App we can pay for the fuel from the car. This is so handy when Daisy is with us and is a great time saver too if the shop is busy.

We have been taking advantage of in-store special offers recently and best of all we can collect Nectar points with the Esso Nectar loyalty programme by having our Nectar card swiped at the till. Esso offer 1 Nectar point per litre of fuel purchased and 2 Nectar points per £1 spent in the shop and on carwashing services. I love that we can pop in for a late-night treat and collect Nectar points too. We’re saving our Nectar points up for a few garden must-haves when Spring comes around.

If, like me, you’re a fan of topping up your Nectar balance, and saving time too, then why not download the Esso App and link your Nectar card? You can pay for your fuel from your vehicle, find an Esso branded service station and even find special offers that are exclusive to the Esso Nectar loyalty programme. What’s more, you can set a pre-authorisation limit before you begin fueling your car to stay in control of your budget at all times. You can collect Nectar points at around 1,000 Esso branded service stations across Great Britain so head over to the Nectar website to find your nearest participating Esso. Terms and conditions apply: https://www.esso.co.uk/loyalty-program

Between 5th November 2019 and 26th February 2020, Esso customers can benefit from a Nectar points double up, helping to make the everyday more rewarding for drivers.

For every qualifying purchase of £5 or more on shop items such as milk or snacks at participating Esso Stations, customers will receive double the amount of Nectar points, simply by swiping their Nectar card at the till when they pay.

If you just need a few things, petrol stations can be so much quicker and easier than big supermarkets. I often get lost in ours!

You’re so right! Also, I don’t always have the energy for traipsing around the supermarket after a busy day!

We used the app on the drive home from Stansted to locate our nearest garage so we could still earn points – SO easy to use!
