At the start of 2018 I decided to write another bucket list for us as a family. I created my 2017 bucket list on a whim but my 2018 one has had a bit more input from my husband. I’ve put a little more effort into thinking about it all and trying to achieve things this year too. Hopefully! As I’m self-employed sometimes I get a little stressed with work and have plans to look forward to keeps me going through the busier times. Days off are really important to me and I’m really excited to share with you our first 2018 Bucket list update.
Here is a reminder of our 2018 bucket list at the beginning of the year:
Now I have gone through and created our first 2018 bucket list update using a traffic light system. Green means we have already achieved this, at least once. Orange means that we have set the wheels in motion. This could mean that we have something booked already or a date scheduled in our diary. Anyway, here it is… our first 2018 bucket list update:
If you want to be nice feel free to give this a pin – or better yet follow me on Pinterest!
So as you can see there are three completed items on the bucket list update so far:
Make dairy-free ice cream – I did indeed make dairy-free ice cream. It wasn’t a hit with Daisy! Or any of us in fact! I’m going to stick to buying the Alpro stuff that she already loves!
Bake cookies with Daisy – We’ve baked a few cookies now including a dairy-free version of hobnobs!
There are five items on the bucket list update that are on their way to being completed:
Enjoy a boat ride – We’re off to Centerparcs in a week or so and I want to complete this. Finally!! Hope the weather is nice!
Enjoy a holiday abroad – We’ve got a friends wedding in August so hoping to make a long weekend of it and have a nice time with our family.
Take monthly family photos – We’ve taken a couple so far. They’re not on a tripod, or beautiful, but we are all in the photo which makes a nice change for us!
Go on a spa break – We’re going to stay in a spa lodge at Centerparcs at the end of this month. It has a hot tub, sauna, steam room and hydro-baths. I’m going to chalk that up as a spa break, although I know we’ll have more spa stays this year anyway
Take my Mum on holiday – Again this is being completed this month! My Mum is coming away to Centerparcs with us and she’s doing so well after her open heart surgery she will be able to swim and enjoy the hot tub with us! Can’t wait now!
I am working on a few other things on the bucket list but they don’t feel worthy of an orange update yet! Watch this space!
I’ll be honest and say that a couple of items on the bucket list I feel may not get completed. Still, it’s meant to be about having more fun as a family, rather than applying pressure to ourselves. I’m enjoying having things to look forward to completing as a family.
Hope you’ve enjoyed reading our first 2018 Bucket list update. Check back later in the year for another one!
