Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week – 10th February

Money saving is something that I love. Whether I make a pound, or save a pound, I’m happy. Being frugal is something that I always want to do but in the past I haven’t been great at. I’m now joining in with a fantastic weekly linky that is great for boosting the motivation. Everyone is welcome to join too so if it sounds like a challenge you’d enjoy why not get involved. Here are Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week – 10th February. Five Fabulously Frugal Things I've Done This Week - 10th February

Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week – 10th February

  • Shopped at Homesense. We were in need of a new baby carrier. Daisy has outgrown the one we have used since birth. I like to have a baby carrier on hand for quick trips to the shop. Also, we use it frequently on holidays. When visiting HomeSense they had a baby carrier (this one!) and it was just £24.99. It can be worn on the front, back or on the hip. I’m really excited about using it over the weekend. The RRP was £77 but the cheapest brand new, in blue, I could find was around £50. Best of all I had a £25 voucher so it was FREE!
  • Meal planning. Despite being on holiday for the last week we meal planned. I have wrote a list of 9 or 10 meals for the coming week. This gives us lots of variety and means I can tailor the dinner depending on how busy we are. It should be a fairly busy week ahead so I like to be prepared.
  • Shopped at Iceland. This week I did my shop at Iceland. I stuck to just buying the items we needed for the meals we have planned. I was really happy to see lots of lean meat, including 5% mince, for a really reasonable price. Total spend under £45 for a weeks worth of food including lots of fruit for smoothies.
  • Made Daisy snacks. I often resort to buying snacks from the supermarket for Daisy. These are super overpriced so this week I’ve made some myself. Daisy has enjoyed lots of different snacks, hasn’t noticed a difference and I’ve saved a few pounds too.
  • Visited the charity shop. I visited one of our local charity shops and I found Daisy a lovely jumper. It was size 12-18m, which is the next size Daisy will be moving into. The jumper was in fantastic condition, super cute, and just £1.50. I couldn’t buy her such a cute jumper on the high street for £1.50 so I was really pleased. Often I will pop in and have a quick glance at the clothes. Some charity shops are overpriced but I’ve got at least two in my town that are reasonably priced. However, they don’t seem to know the difference between pricing Primark or Next – which is to my advantage of course.

This week has been good considering we have been on holiday. We’ve had a lovely break, spent less money than expected and still been frugal at times too.

I’m linking up with CassEmma  and Becky in this week’s ‘Five Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week’ linky.
