We were gifted the featured item in exchange for coverage. The start of this year was rough for my Mum, and so when Summer started I wanted her to be able to have lots of time to relax in her garden. Now, thanks to a beautiful new Summerhouse, I’ve got her garden summer ready with Shedstore. We’ve been able to create a lovely space for my Mum to enjoy her garden while sheltering from the sun too.
Getting summer ready with Shedstore has been simplified thanks to the Forest Woodstock Overlap Apex Summerhouse that we had delivered. Once the order was placed it was just a few days before my Mum received contact to check what delivery date would be convenient for her. On the day itself, there was a small time window of just one hour, to avoid us having to wait at home for the entire day.
Once the Summerhouse was delivered, in pieces, direct to the garden we had a family member kindly build this for my Mum. If you don’t have someone to build it for you, or that isn’t your cup of tea, then Shedstore actually offer a professional garden building installation service. If you can’t afford to pay additionally for installation then I suggest looking at the Pro Shed Base Kit at least. This will allow you to ensure that your Summerhouse is standing on a firm base, which is the essential thing when it comes to building the Summerhouse. It is also worth mentioning that the packaged weight of this comes to 136.5kg so the deliverymen will happily place this directly into your garden for you. And I’d advise you let them do this!
Obviously, we didn’t build the Summerhouse ourselves but it was built in around 4-5 hours, over 2 days, and it was all straight-forward. This Summerhouse comes with high-quality pressure treated overlap cladding and comes with a solid timber-boarding 16mm floor too. This is a fantastic touch, that adds a huge feel of quality to the Summerhouse once built. As you can see the felt needs finishing on the roof, to make it completely weatherproof.
The two doors on this Summerhouse are 3/4 glazed doors and there are four windows too, two on the front, and two on the side. This lets LOTS of natural light into the Summerhouse and makes it the perfect place for me to sit and work when I visit my Mum.
This Summerhouse has scalloped bargeboards and a finial to give it a lovely final finish on the outside.
Because the wood for this Summerhouse has been pressure-treated this means that it has a 15-year anti-rot guarantee with NO re-treatment required. This is fantastic for people like my Mum, who would struggle to re-treat this regularly due to limited mobility. Also, you can paint the outside of this Summerhouse, either with paint or wood treatment, so you can match it to your surroundings. As you can see we have had the outside of the summerhouse painted already.
The best feature of this Summerhouse, besides how lovely it looks, is that you receive everything you need to build this. We didn’t need to buy a single thing. However, if you buy the base kit then you’ll need to go out and buy stones, to ensure that the kit is levelled out fully before your Summerhouse is built and in place.
