We’ve got a holiday coming up in a few weeks and I cannot wait! I’m so excited for a nice break with my family. I’m looking forward to cold forest walks, sitting in the sauna at night and just being able to relax with a nice glass of wine. It has been a busy few months for sure! Today I want to share with you ways that you can make money while you’re on holiday. This is going to be marketed more towards when you holiday in the UK specifically because that is what I love to do!
How to make money while you’re on holiday
Rent out your home
While you’re away from home you could be making yourself a little money by renting out your property with an Airbnb Rental Management Company like GuestReady. Here are some tips for increasing your Airbnb occupancy rate and maximising the money that you make. Be sure to check you have the relevant insurance in place if you want to rent out your home.
Whether it is your own home you’re looking to rent out or an investment property, GuestReady offers convenient property management services. You can receive help with price optimisation, cleaning & laundry services, and even managing your rental property on multiple platforms including Booking.com and Airbnb.
Sell a holiday snap
While you’re away on your holiday you’ll probably take lots of lovely holiday photos. Weekly magazines, such as Bella Magazine, will actually pay cash if they publish one of your photographs. Often these magazines are looking to see what made you happy, or genius ways to save money or have fun in life, and so holidays snaps are the perfect opportunity to cash in a little with minimal effort. You can often email your submission in so there is no cost involved, just a little of your time.
Use a cashback credit card
I already have a whole post on how to earn free money with a cashback credit card. Basically, you can make your purchases in your usual way. Book your holiday activities. Pay for a nice meal while enjoying time together etc and then you will earn some cashback along the way. Be sure to check sites like *TopCashBack to see if you can earn yourself some bonus cashback, if you choose to sign up for a cashback credit card.
Freelance from anywhere
If you’ve got a partial skill or creative flair you can make money anywhere when you freelance with companies such as Fiverr and Upwork. In the past, I’ve made money creating content for other bloggers and have even sold photographs for others to use on their social media. While you’re on holiday you could take some photographs specifically to try and sell. Alternatively, you could list services that you can offer and create your profile. If you’re going to be travelling to get to holiday assuming you’re not driving, then you could work on your profile on the train or bus!
Complete a mystery shop
While travelling in the UK I like to check out Marketforce, which is one of my favourite mystery shopping companies. They have jobs all over the country, and even have airside jobs at airports on a fairly regular basis.
If you don’t want to just make money while you’re on holiday, but want to make money all the time, then be sure to check out some of my favourite ways to make and save money.
