The lovely Colette from We’re going on an Adventure has tagged me to take part in a Blogger Q&A. The questions that I’ve been tagged to answer are hopefully going to help you learn a little more about me – hope you enjoy it!
When was the last time you cried?
Yesterday. I listened to a song that was played at my Dad’s funeral for the first time in full. I almost made it through without a tear. Daisy quickly cheered me up as she came over and gave me a cuddle, and then we went off to play toys together.
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I think so! I’m someone who seems like a bit of a bitch on the surface but actually, I’m just blunt and don’t suffer fools gladly. I’m also a nice person. I want my friends to be happy and I try to work hard on having good relationships. I have a TERRIBLE memory so I sometimes set reminders for upcoming special occasions or sad events, so I can let my friends know I’m thinking of them. I also like to do little random acts of kindness for my friends too.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Less than I used to. Probably still too much!
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
It would probably be eyebrows. Everyone seems to have amazing eyebrows these days. Personally, I have become a really happy person in the last few years so I try and make sure the first thing I notice about someone is a positive. Whether that is nice make-up, a nice smile, a nice outfit or something else.
Scary movie or happy endings?
Definitely happy endings! I love a nice rom-com and have a whole DVD wallet full of them!
Baking, coffee, and Lemon Zing Zoflora! Ideally all in one day.
What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
India. It was beautiful! Even if when I did first arrive there I wanted to go home and started crying…!
Do you have any special talents?
I type more than 120 words per minute. This makes blogging the perfect job for me!
Where were you born?
What are your hobbies?
Writing, reading, baking and spending time with my family.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A lawyer. I wanted to help people and fight injustices. I am glad to have found a career where I can help people and sometimes still fight injustices!
How many countries have you been to?
Nine I think. India, Algeria, Egypt, Amsterdam, France, Switzerland, Spain, Gran Canaria, Majorca.
What was your favourite/worst subject in School?
My favourite was maths. My worst subject was R.E. It was REALLY focused on Christians which felt a bit insular.
What is your Favourite drink?
What would you (or have you) named your children?
My daughter is named Daisy Blue. The ‘Blue’ part comes from a passage from ‘A Field Guide to getting lost‘, which is absolutely beautiful.
We have a few other names in mind for when we have more children.
Who are some of your favourite YouTubers?
I really enjoy watching The Mini Millionaire and What Alex Did. Cora and Helen have lots of interesting videos and I enjoy watching what they are getting up to. Alex, and his wife Hannah, have beautiful videos, and children, and I love watching Alex’s videos. I find that his tutorials teach me new editing techniques, which I’m in desperate need of, and his Cinematics are incredible.
How many Boyfriends have you had?
Errrr, 3, I think? I have been with my wonderful husband for more than 10 years now. Prior to that, I was in 4.5-year long relationship, with someone who treated me vile most of the time. There was one other person in between but it wasn’t anything serious.
Favourite memory from childhood?
My Dad rescuing me when I got stuck up a tree. We lived 7-8 doors away from the park. I had climbed up a tree and got stuck. I shouted so loudly that my Dad could hear me in our garden and he came down to the park, climbed up the tree and rescued me.
How would you describe your fashion sense?
Poor. I have lots of money to buy clothes, but I just don’t really enjoy it. Shopping is not a hobby of mine and I’m always trying to make a bit more effort. The last few months I have been buying more items a little out of my comfort zone. All too often I resort back to my same tops/jumpers/jean combos.
Tell us one of your bad habits!
This is REALLY similar to what Colette wrote in her post but it would have to be being terrified of tiny insects. I’m terrified of spiders, moths, Daddy long legs and LADYBIRDS.
Hope you’ve enjoyed this Blogger Q&A!
