Good morning! I hope you’re feeling rested after the weekend. I am! This weekend Thomas was on day shifts both days so Daisy and I spent the weekend together. I worry sometimes about entertaining her for full days by myself, which is just anxiety really. On Friday I made a list on my phone with lots of ideas of things to do at home, and ways to have fun that was outside of our normal toy playing etc. This was really fun and I let Daisy pick things and she had great fun. The weekend flew by!
As you can see Daisy LOVES paints. My back was turned for just a few minutes and not only did she paint her hands but the wall, a cardboard box and the floor too. Fortunately, the paint was washable so it was easily resolved, and she was just having fun rather than trying to make a mess on purpose. I love how unfiltered she is and I just try and go with the flow and enjoy the time together, mess and all!
Our weekend was just what I needed after a busy week working. My work is picking up at the moment after Christmas, and when I had the flu for several weeks, which I’m really grateful for. Alongside that, we are still doing work on our house (it stops being a new house after a few months right?!) which means every day off feels super precious.
I know Daisy really enjoys the mix of time that she spends with Tom and I. Some weekends we are all home and sometimes it is just the two of us. I’m so happy that I have a job that allows me to spend lots of time at home with Daisy as it really is such a privilege.
I hope that the week ahead is a good one! I’ve got a LOT of plans work-wise, and I’m looking forward to our family weekend this weekend already! Have a great week.
