I’m a BIG fan of meal planning. It is a fantastic way to save money, keeps us away from the takeaway so often and means that we eat delicious healthy dinners. Today I’m sharing the Meal Planning Linky Week #17.

Meal planning is surprisingly easy once you get into it. I spend about 10-15 minutes a week working on a meal plan, and writing a shopping list. The money that this saves us is well worth the time I invest.

We are saving a lot of money, especially as I have switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi.

Want some inspiration for meal planning? New to meal planning?

I’ve recently reviewed the Reduce Your Food Spend course. This is a fantastic course that teaches you everything you need to know about meal planning, building a stockpile and more. It comes with printables and even a full weeks meal plan example for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Why not *click here to enrol on the course and use the code HALFOFFAPR to save 50%!

The Meal Planning Linky Week #17

I will be planning 5 meals each week. This leaves 2 days per week for using up leftovers, dining out or visiting family for dinner. We don’t have set days for our meals, as I prefer to decide in the morning which of the meals we want and what fits in with our plans.

My meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #17 are:

Sausage Cassoulet - A look at the finished dish

Sausage cassoulet

Homemade pizzas

A look at my ultimate lazy tuna fishcakes - once cooked

Lazy tuna fishcakes with roasted vegetables

A week of slow cooker dinners Slow-cooker-beef-casserole-A-look-at-the-dinner-once-the-flour-has-been-added

Slow cooker beef casserole

Salt and pepper chicken

Salt & pepper chicken with egg fried rice

My *triple slow cooker is really helpful when I want to make us a slow cooker dinner. I’m able to make us the main dish, a side dish and cook a separate meal for Daisy too. Most of this week’s dinners are Daisy friendly so I won’t have to do that much extra cooking for her. Yay!

If you’re looking for meal planning inspiration then be sure to read my meal planning tips and my meal planning with mince post. I’ve also got a post about making a roast chicken go further.

If you enjoyed this post I’d love it if you could pin it on Pinterest!

I think you’ve just given me next Saturdays meal with that salt and pepper chicken! I’ll have to buy the chicken breast but it will save money on the takeaway we’ll probably want to buy anyway!

It’s absolutely delicious. I’m going to be tweaking the recipe in the coming weeks to try and make it a little bit healthier! x
