Every Thursday I will be bringing you another instalment of my guest series, Money Talks. I’ll be featuring bloggers from all walks of life giving their answers to money related questions. Hopefully you will find a new blog to read and learn more about other people online. Money Talks will be live every Thursday and I’ve got some absolutely fantastic bloggers taking part! Hope you enjoy it. If you’re a blogger and want to take part then get in touch. This weeks instalment features A Mum Track Mind. You can check out the A Mum Track Mind website here.
When did you start blogging?
In February 2016 just a month after the birth of my second child.
What inspired your blog name?
After giving birth, I became completely consumed and immersed in motherhood. I think that’s a pretty common experience for a lot of us in the midst of night feeds and the new, squishy baby love. I wanted to capture it all and share my experiences of being a mother – good, bad and ugly. A Mum Track Mind really summed it up for me!
What is your attitude to money – are you a spender or a saver?
Definitely a spender. I really want to get better at saving and I can do it if I have a goal to work towards (like maternity leave) but for the most part I just love to travel or buy my kids things too much so Im always spending!
What is the best bargain you have ever purchased?
I’m ashamed to say I’m not really a bargain hunter! I did however pick up a Little Tykes car recently second hand on ebay for just £14.99 and it was like new! Amazing when you consider that they retail at about £50!
What is the biggest splurge you have ever made?
Other than my house and car I suppose it would be hair extensions. They looked amazing after ten hours having them put in but cost £1000+ and I couldn’t stop them getting all tangled. I eventually had them all cut out a few months later – eek! I am way more low maintenance these days – who has time right?!
If you had £100,000 right now what would you do with it?
Pay off my mortgage. Without a doubt. Being mortgage free is the dream right?!
If you could go back 10 years & give yourself one piece of money related
advice what would it be?
Do not get a credit card until you are sensible enough to not use it like free money!!
What was the last item you purchased?
A tin of twelve of the world’s rarest chilli powders for my other half for Fathers Day. Random I know but I do love an alternative present.
What is your favourite ever blog post?
My favourite post is the one that was the hardest to write – Father Christmas didn’t come. It’s the post that I received the most love on and that was extremely cathartic to publish (and nerve wracking!).
What is your biggest money regret?
Credit cards! ‘Nuff said hey.
If you enjoyed this post I’d love it if you could pin it on Pinterest!
