Every Thursday I will be bringing you another instalment of my guest series, Money Talks. I’ll be featuring bloggers from all walks of life giving their answers to money related questions. Hopefully you will find a new blog to read and learn more about other people online. Money Talks will be live every Thursday and I’ve got some absolutely fantastic bloggers taking part! Hope you enjoy it. If you’re a blogger and want to take part then get in touch. This weeks instalment features Dear Bear and Beany. You can check out the Dear Bear and Beany website here.
When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in January 2016, I can’t believe it’s been that long it only feels like yesterday that I nervously pressed publish on that first post.
What inspired your blog name?
My blog name came from the nicknames we have for our two girls, names that we’ve called them forever and it felt the most natural name for me to have.
What is your attitude to money – are you a spender or a saver?
I’m a real mixture of the too. I really like to have a good amount of savings and I worry about anytime that something may happen that we need some money. But then I also have moments where I spend money like we’ve won the lottery. Maybe it’s because I’m a Gemini!
What is the best bargain you have ever purchased?
I love a bargain and I very rarely spend full price on anything. The best bargain is a random one, it’s a coat that I love and I have worn SO much. It was originally £250 and I paid £25 for it, I know, brilliant bargain!
What is the biggest splurge you have ever made?
Our new house. We moved just before Christmas, it was a big move for us and we pushed ourselves. But it was worth it and I just love it.
If you had £100,000 right now what would you do with it?
After screaming a lot! I would take the girls to Florida, Walt Disney. They are at that perfect age where everything is princesses and Disney. I would be able to afford to do it properly and pay for the character dinners and shows. It would be amazing!
If you could go back 10 years & give yourself one piece of money related advice what would it be?
Be careful who you trust. Just because they are close to you now, doesn’t mean they always will be. People can turn against you at a drop of a hat and this could cost you a lot of money.
What was the last item you purchased?
Today I brought the girls some bits in the Smiggle sale (I love a sale) ready for their birthdays.
What is your favourite ever blog post?
A post I wrote last year for my mum. I learnt from the best!
What is your biggest money regret?
Taking my foot of the property market when I was younger. When I think what could have been if I had stayed on it!
You can find Dear Bear and Beany over on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Also, be sure to check out the Dear Bear and Beany website. You’ll find an array of parenting posts and learn more about family life.
