Every Thursday I will be bringing you another instalment of my guest series, Money Talks. I’ll be featuring bloggers from all walks of life giving their answers to money-related questions. Hopefully, you will find a new blog to read and learn more about other people online. Money Talks will be live every Thursday and I’ve got some absolutely fantastic bloggers taking part! Hope you enjoy it. This weeks instalment features Alice Spake. You can check out the Alice Spake website here.

When did you start blogging?

In 2014 so four and a half years ago. It started as a hobby after my boyfriend and I moved in together as he used to work late nights. I’d been toying with the idea for a year but never did anything about it until one day, we had awful weather and no plans so my blog was born.

What inspired your blog name?

I re-branded from Annie Writes Beauty at the beginning of 2018 to my name as I needed something a bit more general to cover the different topics I wanted to share.

What is your attitude to money – are you a spender or a saver?

I’m a bit of both although I’m not a great saver. We always put aside a chunk but we do dip into it quite often too which kinda defeats the purpose.

What is the best bargain you have ever purchased?

A pair of £750 Yves Saint Laurent shoes for £140. My first designer shoe purchase on my first visit to Harrods.

What is the biggest splurge you have ever made?

Not a splurge just yet but we’re saving for a house, does that count? If not then my Mulberry purse!

If you have £100,000 right now what would you do with it?

Book a world cruise with my little family, I want to show them the world and the convenience of a cruise ship makes it so much easier.

If you could go back 10 years & give yourself one piece of money related advice what would it be?

Always save a percentage of your wages and stop buying new outfits for every weekend.

What was the last item you purchased?

A Marks and Spencer Dine for Two.

What is your favourite ever blog post?

What is your biggest money regret?

Renting for so many years but we were in a position we didn’t have a choice while we saved for a house. I’ve never calculated just how much we’ve spent on renting but I also don’t think I want to know deep down.
