Every Thursday I will be bringing you another instalment of my guest series, Money Talks. I’ll be featuring bloggers from all walks of life giving their answers to money-related questions. Hopefully, you will find a new blog to read and learn more about other people online. Money Talks will be live every Thursday and I’ve got some absolutely fantastic bloggers taking part! Hope you enjoy it. If you’re a blogger and want to take part then get in touch. This weeks instalment features HollyBobbs. You can check out the HollyBobbs website here.
When did you start blogging?
In 2011 after my daughter was born.
What inspired your blog name?
It is after my daughter – my husband’s nickname for her.
What is your attitude to money – are you a spender or a saver?
I’d like to think I’m a saver but I’m probably more of a spender. I tend to use it as a bit of a release sometimes as I am often stuck in bed due to illness and a bit of a shop can help me feel better.
What is the best bargain you have ever purchased?
There’s not one thing in particular I can think of but I often look through the sales rails of childrenswear and buy bigger sizes ready for next year for the kids.
What is the biggest spluge your have ever made?
My camera and GoPro are probably the biggest at £500 each.
If you had £100,000 right now what would you do with it?
I’d probably pay off some of our mortgage and clear our debts, and then definitely an all-star holiday to Disneyland!
If you could go back 10 years & give yourself one piece of money related advice what would it be?
Don’t get a loan to buy a car! The cars went several years ago and we are still paying them off!
What was the last item you purchased?
A food shop? Apart from that we went to Legoland this weekend and spent a bomb!
What is your favourite ever blog post?
My holiday posts are my favourite as I love looking back on them and seeing the children have grown as well as remember our trips – my most recent one is this one.
What is your biggest money regret?
As I’ve said before, taking out a loan. My husband and I were very good and never had debts until the last five years when we took out loans for our cars and remortgaged to do our loft conversion. Paying it back seems to be never-ending and I really wish we had saved more and paid for things out of our own money.
