Money Talks with Mr Paul Blog

When did you start blogging?

I started blogging in 2016, I was selling on Amazon FBA and private labelling and their was so much interest from my friends and friends of friends, others wanted to do it and wanted my help. I think part of being successful is helping others to achieve their goals and I really enjoyed inspiring and helping others. I had a bit of a break from blogging in 2017 as my friend was terminally ill so I wasn’t in the right mindset. So I when I started again in 2018 I was able to make the switch to my own self hosted site. It also gave me a creative outlook to focus on to help me come to terms with the loss of my friend in 2017.

What inspired your blog name?

When dealing with supplies in China I was always called Mr Paul, it made me giggle and kind of stuck.

What is your attitude to money – are you a spender or a saver?

OMG A spender, thats for sure, I never save money, I prefer to have the best quality and experience, my blog doesn’t at all focus on saving money as I know nothing about this and it isn’t me. I like to make money so I can travel business class and live the best life ever. My attitude to money has come from my mum and her constant penny pinching frugal ways annoyed me and now I rebel against it!

What is the best bargain you have ever purchased?

Has to be my dog, he cost me £1000 but has made my dreams come true! worth every penny and more!

What is the biggest splurge you have ever made?

Before turning 30 I had a mini mid life crisis and bought a brand new mini convertible, it cost me a fortune but was totally fabulous and I never once regretted it! Shame my ex wrote it off drunk!

If you had £100,000 right now what would you do with it?

I would invest it all into property, probably into a little flat in Liverpool my home City, or a pad in Spain, rent it out via air bnb and earn a nice little passive income.

If you could go back 10 years & give yourself one piece of money related advice what would it be?

Save more Paul. Having savings gives you peace of mind and freedom.

What was the last item you purchased?

Latte and a muffin from Costa.

What is your favourite ever blog post?

What is your biggest money regret?

I didn’t quite finish my University degree, I did it mostly with a grant so it didn’t cost a lot, but to finish it off now will cost me thousands not to mention having to support myself to finish it.
