I am a big fan of using my Ninja Foodi to make delicious meals for my family. You can recreate the taste of a takeaway at home without spending a fortune by making these Ninja Foodi chicken kebabs (or kebobs).
The best thing about Ninja Foodi chicken kebabs is that they are so easy to make. During the day, I can prep them and marinate them in the fridge, or I can whip them up right before I cook them. Sometimes when I want to change the flavour up a little I will use Ninja Foodi chicken tikka.
The Ninja Foodi is a convenient way to make tasty chicken kebabs. By using a kebab rack with metal skewers, I can also cook air fryer chips or one of my other Ninja air fryer recipes while they cook. I love to make air fryer side dishes when I’m cooking a meal like this, as I can really make the most of having the Ninja Foodi turned on already!
Whether you’re looking for a recipe for chicken kebabs or some inspiration about what dressing to use, keep reading if you want to learn how to make your own. It takes just 20 minutes to make delicious, succulent chicken kebabs, whether you use store-bought sauces or prepare your own.
The brown sugar BBQ sauce I use for this recipe is my favorite, but when I run out of time or ingredients, I use a store-bought one instead.
I use chicken breast in my version of this recipe, however you could use ANY cut of chicken (including chicken thighs or ground chicken) as long as you can place it on or mould it onto the skewer.
Please note: I use the Ninja Foodi OL750UK for this recipe, and the kebab stand that I use is designed for the height of this multi-cooker. You may need to use wooden skewers or look for a different product

Ingredients for Ninja Foodi chicken kebabs:
400g skinless chicken breast (or thigh)
2 onions (I love to use a mix of white onion and red onion)
3 bell peppers (I love to use red pepper and yellow pepper)
150ml bbq sauce (or other sauce of choice)
Salt and ground black pepper to season

Method for making chicken kebabs in the Ninja Foodi:
Prepare the chicken breast by removing any fatty parts.
Slice the chicken lengthways into 1 inch thick strips.
Slice the onion into quarters and then remove the centre piece so you’ve got even sizes of the onion.
De-seed the peppers and then slice into 1 inch large chunks.
Add the chicken to a bowl, with the BBQ sauce (or your choice of sauce) and then mix together before placing in the fridge to marinate for at least 1 hour.
Once you’ve given your chicken a chance to marinate you will want to start layering up your skewers. For me personally I go for pepper chunk, chicken breast piece, onion quarter and then keep repeating until the skewers are full.
When placing the chicken onto my skewer I like to use a an “S” type formation where I skewer the bottom of the chicken, then fold the middle over, then fold again and then I skewer the top of the chicken breast last.
Place the skewers in to the Ninja Foodi kebab rack, place this into the air fryer basket and then cook at 200C (390F) for 18-20 mins total time. 10 minutes into the cooking time I like to lightly spray with cooking oil to prevent them from becoming dry.
If you don’t have a kebab rack just use wooden skewers, but give them a soak first to stop them from burning in the Foodi.
Great ideas for adding flavour to your chicken breast skewers:
I love to apply dry seasoning mixes when I’m very short on time, and I’ll just add them with a little olive or vegetable oil, stir together and then brush onto all the chicken breasts. You could use shop-bought of course if you want to save on time and effort, but you may spend a little more money for that convenience.
My favourite dry mixes to make are: peri peri seasoning, fajita seasoning, cajun seasoning and Mexican spice blend.
If you want to keep things a little more simple then you can use some paprika to brighten them up, and keep them child friendly too. My little ones are a tad on the fussy side after years of food allergies but they love these skewers.
When you fancy something a little different why not try adding some pineapple among the layers of chicken. You can use tinned chunks to save on time and effort, just drain them well and then layer between the chicken and any other vegetables you want to use. I love to begin and end the skewer with a chunk of pineapple to make these kebabs extra succulent.
Want to make these on a Ninja Foodi grill?
Pop the grill onto MAX. Then you’ll be looking at around 6 minutes for cooking time.
Make sure that you check the internal temperature of your chicken before serving. Safe internal temperature is 75C (167F approx).
