As we’re into October now I thought it would be a great time for a bucket list update! I cannot believe that Summer has been and gone, and my favourite time of the year is rapidly approaching. I love Autumn, and Winter is my FAVOURITE season! For us this time of year always means lots of trips to Centerparcs, family walks, and being out enjoying the crisp fresh air. Creating a bucket list, for the second year, has really kept me accountable with making memories and having fun as a family. Also, there were a few activities that we wanted to complete as a couple, without Daisy, and this bucket list helps me hold myself accountable. Here is our third 2018 bucket list update – so you can see what we’ve been up to!
Here is a reminder of our 2018 bucket list at the beginning of the year:
Now I have gone through and created our third 2018 bucket list update using a traffic light system. Green means we have already achieved this, at least once. Orange means that we have set the wheels in motion. This could mean that we have something booked already or a date scheduled in our diary. Anyway, here it is… our third 2018 bucket list update:
If you want to be nice feel free to give this a pin – or better yet follow me on Pinterest!
So as you can see there are two more completed items on the bucket list update!
Watch a film at the cinema
It is amazing just how hard this becomes when you’re busy working parents, with an active 2-year-old. I’m really grateful to my in-laws, and my Mum, as we get regular breaks, but these are usually taken up with working. I think, that twice now, we’ve booked the cinema and Thomas has gone alone! I can’t even remember what we watched now – some Marvel thing that Thomas chose!
Enjoy a picnic
It was actually a cross between a picnic and an afternoon tea, for Thomas’ Birthday. We had lots of picnic style foods, including pork pies and sausage rolls. It was really nice, and a real treat!
We have also made good progress with this:
Save £5,000 extra
So far we’ve saved around £3,200 extra, on top of normal savings. This has gone into a car fund. We’ve had to use £750 of it, towards car repairs, but I was so glad we had the extra money there. I’m still confident we can hit this, as I’ve got some good work coming up in the next few weeks.
Honestly, some of the bits that we have left are SO simple. Make a trifle, for example. I really need to put that on my to-do list for this month!
I don’t think we will end up going abroad this year now. There just isn’t enough time left in the year. However, we’ve had a wonderful year, with lots of holidays to Centerparcs and Bluestone. We may squeeze in a visit to Stonehenge, as we are going to be holidaying near there soon, but it depends on our travel time!
You can see some videos from our trip to the Centerparcs Treehouse at Woburn Forest:
Now you’ve read our third 2018 bucket list update if you fancy it why not have a nosy at last year.
Sorry that this post is a little light on the photographs – obviously you’re not supposed to photograph in the cinema, and the picnic afternoon tea was just scoffed about as fast as it was ready!
I’m hopeful that we will complete most of our 2018 bucket list. I’m really looking forward to setting some more optimistic goals for 2019!
