AD. My husband works regularly on the weekends, at least 2 out of 4 weekends. This means that when he has a weekend off we like to spend time together of a family. Some weekends we relax, other weekends we go out, visit family, tend to our allotment and generally are on our feet from the minute we wake up until the minute we collapse in bed. Recently we decided to host a pizza party, with thanks to Papa John’s and the new Papa John’s Deep Crust Pizza!
Pizza delivery company, Papa John’s, is offering pizza lovers an indulgent take-away treat with the launch of ‘Papa’s Deep Crust’. Now available nationwide, the new deep crust pizza offers an appetite-satisfying feasting experience thanks to a new dough recipe which results in a thicker, mouth-watering cheese crust. Well I don’t know about you but as soon as I read this I was intrigued. I love pizza, who doesn’t right?!
To honour the new Papa John’s Deep Crust Pizza it was taken down to the deepest Tube station, Hampstead, and lucky Londoners were treated to a unique platform-dining experience, as you can see below.

What did we think of Papa John’s Deep Crust Pizza?
Well we are already fans of Papa John’s anyway – and the more crust the better in this house! We loved it!! The five years that Papa John’s have spent working on this pizza really shines through. This new recipe sees a crust that is almost double the depth of the standard Papa John’s pizza and the extra cup of cheese makes this so indulgent. The Deep Crust is the real star of this pizza and it has a lovely caramelised, crispy cheese flavour to it.
Our pizza night was great fun and Papa John’s did not disappoint. Our pizza arrived hot and the deep crust was even better than we were expecting! My Mum, who is not usually a fan of pizza, thoroughly enjoyed her slice and went back for seconds. So it must be good!
The toppings were plentiful and the new recipe tomato sauce was the best I’ve ever tasted on a Papa John’s pizza. You can order the deep crust pizza in all your usual favourite toppings and we will definitely be changing from our usual Papa John’s pizza to this lovely deep crust pizza going forward. The crust is one of my favourite parts and this definitely did not disappoint.
Another great thing that I love about high quality takeaway pizza, like those from Papa John’s pizza, is that you can re-heat leftovers the following day. Just pop them in the oven, with a bit of water on the crust and 15 minutes later it is almost as good second time around!
