We were gifted the items featured in this post in exchange for coverage. I’m the Mum to a 17 month old and as such I’m always looking for ways to keep her entertained. Daisy is seemingly quite intelligent so far and I like to try and make sure that we have a wide variety of rainy day activities for 1 year olds.

Crafts are ALWAYS a winner in our home! We’ve started off simple – with pens, crayons and finger paints from the Maped Helix colouring range. As you can see my coffee table is already ruined so I’m quite relaxed about letting Daisy run free and enjoy herself.

This my first colouring kit is great fun for little ones and it has everything they need to get started with crafts for the first time.

The first time I let Daisy play with these finger paints she coloured in my sofa. In about 10 seconds. While I was getting cleaner to save my coffee table. Anyway, I was thrilled to see that these finger paints really did wash off simply and I was able to wipe my bathroom over and it cleaned up perfectly.

Daisy has been enjoying playing with crayons, scribbling on paper and learning more about holding writing implements. This is a great skill for her to learn and also it kept her quiet for quite a while. Even if I did have to clean my coffee table afterwards!

Rainy day activities for 1 year olds – making memories

The Baby Art You and Me Paint Print Frame is a great way to make a memory with your little one on a rainy day. It takes next to no time at all and you can print both of your handprints, together forever. Also, why not take some time to take a nice photograph together that you can get printed online and pop into the frame? It’s a great way to make a memory that will last a lifetime, and to memorialise how little your child’s handprint was forever!

Rainy day activities for 1 year olds – new toys

New toys are always a great way to keep little ones entertained, aren’t they! Daisy is fortunate that she has a LOT of toys and she has loved this Peter Rabbit jack in a box.

When it popped out Daisy was surprised. I’ve had to help her with turning the handle but she has been really enjoying playing with it.

Pushing Peter Rabbit back into the box has been great fun for Daisy.

Having new toys is great fun and these are some of Daisy’s new favourites:
