We were gifted this item in exchange for coverage. Recently my wonderful husband and I decided that we deserved a break. We have both been working incredibly hard recently and wanted to have a break together to recharge. We booked up a room at Manor of Groves and take a little look at what we enjoyed on our break away! Some of it at least! This is a collaborative post in association with Buyagift who provided us with a two night luxury getaway Smartbox.

The package that we booked included two nights accommodation, full use of the health club facilities and breakfast each morning. We also ate at the restaurant, which we have eaten at before.

Here is a little look at our room at Manor of Groves

Manor of Groves - Our bed

This bed was super comfortable, and the pillows were firm but ideal for us to sleep on. I did wake up a few times in the night, but that is not unusual for me at home either. It was nice and quiet when we were sleeping, despite leaving the bedroom window open. However, if there was a wedding on when you visit Manor of Groves the room we were in overlooked the wedding party area and would presumably have suffered some noise disturbance.

Manor of Groves - Tea tray

The standard tea tray. We didn’t drink tea or coffee while we were staying but the biscuits were nice!

Manor of Groves - Prosecco

The ice bucket and glasses were a lovely touch and by using a spoon in the neck of the bottle, once opened, this Prosecco stayed fizzy for our entire stay. This meant we could enjoy some the following day, before heading off to the Health Club!

Manor of Groves - the view from our bedroom

This was the view from our window. As you can see it was raining when we first arrived.

Manor of Groves - The view from our bedroom at night

It was really pretty at night too! As you can see some repairs were happening to the patio and wall when we were visiting. However, as this area is around 100 years old this is to be expected really from time to time.

Our room was a large size, with a chair, bedside tables, large dressing table with stool and there was a beautiful dresser, that hid a television inside. We didn’t watch television during our stay though so no idea if it was any good! Looked high quality though.

Have a little look at our bathroom at Manor of Groves

Manor of Groves - A look at the bathroom

A little dish of toiletries was left in the bathroom. They were Geneva Guild toiletries and were nice, had a good smell to them and were actually usable – which made a nice change!

Manor of Groves - Bath

This bath was absolutely MASSIVE! If you wanted to you could have comfortably held two people in this bath. Although we didn’t give that a try! It was deep, wide and would be ideal for laying back and relaxing if you have the time for that kind of thing here!

Manor of Groves is home to a golf course. We didn’t use this, however, we did have a little explore and it looked like people were thoroughly enjoying it. The grounds are nice, well kept and functional for a golf course. Not too many beautiful flowers to be decimated by golf balls but enjoyable for a nice walk too.

The main building that houses Manor of Groves is pretty and here are a few snaps:

Health Club at Manor of Groves

There is a health club at the Manor of Groves. This houses a three-story gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and single-sex saunas in the single-sex changing rooms. The changing rooms were the typical open plan ones but there were changing areas, nice showers and toilets too. The swimming pool was lovely, with steps that sloped in instead of climbing down the side of the wall. Also, it is possible to book massages, facials and much more while here. We took advantage of the health club and were pleased with the quality that we received. We had a great time floating around the swimming pool and relaxing in the jacuzzi in particular, although it was shut on our final visit after check-out, which was a bit of a shame!

Overall opinion of the Manor of Groves

It was a pretty building, although a little rough around the edges in places. We had a wonderful stay and were really pleased with our room. The health club had great facilities including a 3-floor gym, single-sex saunas, shared steam room and a decent sized swimming pool with jacuzzi. We took full advantage of the health club on both days and felt refreshed and relaxed for it. It was the perfect way to start and end our stay.

We would definitely return again to Manor of Groves, as they have lots to offer. Fancy seeing what the dinners are like? See my La Brasserie review.
