AD. If you have visited my blog before you will know that I love nothing more than saving money. While money making is important to me I really want nothing more than to save money too. A pound saved is the same as a pound earned for me. Whether you are keen on saving or keen on money making I’ve always got lots of posts to help you out. Today I want to talk to you about how you can save money on a nice family break.
For me I feel that having a family break to look forward to is a great part of life. There is something super exciting about having a nice chance to be together. For my family this means that my husband has time off work, I’m not busy on my MacBook and we can do something fun with our daughter. We enjoy lots of holidays throughout the year, of course, but a nice family break is always good too. If we are limited on time then we will just go on a day out together, but sometimes that isn’t enough. A nice family break makes it possible to go away, to explore somewhere new, and stay in a hotel at the end of a long day. Waking up for a lovely breakfast together is another nice part of a family break for us.
I love to allow my family to explore somewhere new and this year we’ve got a number of nice family breaks planned. We will be going on our usual trips to Centerparcs + more, then we are going to Paris and we are going to have a weekend in London too at some point. I’m looking forward to trying out new hotels and stepping out of our comfort zone a little more this year. Here are some of the ways that we’ll be saving money on our family breaks.
Adjust our expectations for our family break
I’m someone who loves a bit of luxury. This is great, of course, but it isn’t always necessary to stay somewhere with a sauna, a hot tub or a steam room. As long as a hotel room is functional, clean and suitable for the three of us that should be enough sometimes. I’ve got a number of work trips planned this year and I’m trying to be realistic with my hotel choices.
Shop around for discount codes for our family break
I’m going to be looking for more discount codes this year. As I don’t have time to trawl tons of websites I’m going to be using VoucherBin. I can find discount codes for everything from hotels to fashion and health & beauty. Each day they have hand-picked voucher codes and best of all other people will rate them to tell you the success rate that they had. This is great for preventing me from wasting time trying codes that don’t work.
Using a discount code is a fantastic way to have a little more luxury. Particularly for the same money as a budget hotel. I’ve found lots of great deals with voucher codes. I’d rather spend a similar amount of money as I had planned but get to stay somewhere much nicer. We’ve had some great deals over the last year and it is lovely to have a family break together to look forward to – even if we don’t always know where we will end up!
Stay at a secret hotel for our family break
Hotel companies often offer discounted rates at the last minute. This is great for us as we are usually open to where we travel. We drive, and there are great transport links where we live, so being spontaneous is an option for us. I love looking at Lastminute UK Promotions to find a bargain. Best of all many of the deals on secret hotels are from well known hotel brands. The prices can be significantly cheaper so we can enjoy some of the luxury I like for much less.
Being prepared to be flexible on dates, location and type of hotel is just one of the ways that we save money on family breaks. For us this works really well. My husband only works 3-4 days a week and I work for myself. This means that we have lots of flexibility when it comes to our plans as a family.
