Enjoying a real Christmas tree even in a small space

I’ve made no secret of it but we live in a very small home. At present we are in a one-bedroom-flat and we are always working on de-cluttering, organising and cleaning to keep our home pristine. Having piles of clutter around can feel overwhelming at times and this is why I work hard on keeping our home as tidy and organised as possible. We have never had a real Christmas tree in our 8 Christmases living together, until this year! We have been gifted a tree from Pines and Needles and I’m going to give you a look at it and share my thoughts on the quality.

Real Christmas tree

As you can see we’ve gone for quite a small tree this year, due to our limited space. Just to be able to fit our Christmas tree in I have to clean my desk off and pack away lots of little bits like my printer! We ordered a 3ft Nordmann Fir for our real Christmas tree and absolutely love it!

When our tree arrived it came by courier, and we received the tree, a water holding stand and a complimentary mini Christmas tree, that Daisy had a great time decorating! The courier brought our real Christmas tree up to the front door (we live on the 3rd floor) and everything came well wrapped.

Unwrapping our real Christmas tree there were a LOT of loose pine needles, obviously from where it had been bashed around a little in transit. We didn’t need to worry though as it was easy to shake off the loose needles and then get the tree into place. My husband had to saw a little off the bottom of the tree, to ensure the tree drinks the water when in the stand and lasts right through December.

In the above photograph, you can see all of the needles that have fallen off the tree in 3 days. Not bad at all!

A look at our real Christmas tree

As you can see our real Christmas tree is really full and lush. It has an amazing smell, that you only get from having a real Christmas tree in December. It was so simple to put it into place and start decorating. There was no faffing at all and we didn’t have to click any branches in place or find pieces in our hall cupboard like we would with our usual artificial Christmas tree.

It’s actually working out really well having our 3ft Christmas tree up on my desk. I work from the sofa most of the time anyway and there are other areas of our home I can work from if I need to. As our Christmas tree is up high it is simple to use the handheld part of my Shark to vacuum up the needles. Also, Daisy cannot trash the Christmas tree and can just admire it instead.

You’ve still got lots of time to buy your own real Christmas tree! Head over to the Pines and Needles website where you can find trees from 3ft to 12ft with the minimal dropping of needles and a wonderful smell too!

I know that the tree is going to last well as my Mum had a Christmas tree last year from Pines and Needles and it lasted right until the end of the year while still looking and smelling fantastic.

We received this tree in exchange for an honest review.

Still time to grab a lovely Christmas present with Tesco Carousel toys

Christmas is almost upon us! I’m so excited. We have finished our food shop, grabbing lots of nice goodies and I’m really excited for the fun times ahead. My Mum is coming over on the day and we are looking forward to spending lots of time together. Our lovely daughter Daisy has received lots of nice toys and now we’ve got a few more great items for her to play with over the festive period thanks to Tesco. We have been sent a selection of goodies from the Tesco Carousel range to try out.

This Drive and Talk Police Car is available in-store and online from Tesco for £15, but is currently just £10 in the sale. It is aimed at ages 2+ which is ideal for Daisy. I’m not sure that Daisy understands that the remote control is driving the car but she is having great fun pressing the light on the top and activating the siren. Also, this has a little megaphone speaker on the control. You can speak and your voice comes out of the car. This is a really cute feature and we’ve had great fun playing with this together today!

Tesco Carousel toys

I love that these toys come with batteries already in, so there was no faffing around. Also, there was a pull tab to activate it so there was no chance of the batteries already being worn down. Another great feature of this toy was that there was just screw tabs underneath, no fiddly screws or cable ties to deal with.

We also received this Police Breakout set. This usually sells for £35 but is down to just £22.50 in the sale! This is a great toy as it opens out to be played with and then it folds back down all nice and tidy again! For us, this means that Daisy won’t be able to lose all of the pieces, not straight away anyway! There are a LOT of stickers for this, but we were missing instructions so this has made it difficult to know what goes where. I have used the box to give me an idea but it isn’t 100% I don’t think.

You’ve still got time to grab a bargain from the Tesco Carousel range in-store or online.

The items featured in this post were provided for free by Tesco. All opinions are my own.
