Recently my husband has been suffering from the flu and this is his first illness in years that has seen him take sick leave from work. I have been trying to make lots of homely meals and keep him fed and watered. Yesterday I decided to make this slow cooker roast chicken. When we have guests in our home I love to offer them a snack that is homemade. I’m not always time rich these days so I love that these cheese straws can be prepared the night before, and baked fresh just before the guests arrive. Or even when they are here. I love to cook, but when I’m short on time I want to feel like I’ve still made an effort for my guests without spending a long time in the kitchen.
These cheese straws are the perfect party food that you can prepare in next to no time and for well under £2!
I love to cook and bake. I may not be the most skilful, or most artistic, but I really enjoy it. There are some recipes that are ridiculously lengthy to make and can almost feel like a chore. Croissants, bread, chocolate chip brioche rolls, panettone and Christmas cake are just a few that spring to mind. I have a lovely Panasonic SD-2501 breadmaker that makes all of the above recipes a doddle. After a remark from my husband recently about chocolate chip brioche rolls I decided to make up a batch of dough. If you want to get started right away then scroll near the end of the post for my chocolate chip brioche rolls recipe card.
We love a sweet treat in this house, and I don’t always want to make a trip to the shops for goodies. Peanut brittle is a super simple, and cheap to make, snack that takes just a few minutes to prepare.
I absolutely love to bake for myself and my family. These chocolate chip muffins are simple, delicious and tasty! They can be mixed and in the oven in just a couple of minutes so I hope you enjoy making them! Scroll down now for the recipe for my chocolate chip muffins.
