Review: Burger Priest Harlow

My husband and I are lovers of eating out, however, as our daughter Daisy has FPIES, and a large array of allergies, we don’t get out as much as we would like to. Recently, while in the Harvey Centre Harlow we decided to pop into the Burger Priest Harlow on a bit of a whim.

Burger Priest Harlow Milkshakes

We started off our trip to Burger Priest Harlow with these delicious milkshakes. They were made with real ice cream and there were lots of lovely flavours to choose from. Thomas went for a strawberry one and I had chocolate. Mine had lots of lovely chocolate pieces inside and was delicious! I’m not really a fan of strawberry but I had a little sips of Thomas’ and it tasted fresh and not artificial at all.

Cleaning my mirrored furniture with the Daewoo Window Vac 12W Cordless Window Vacuum Cleaner

We’ve got mirrored furniture. Not our best idea. When we first bought it I wanted it to give our room lots more space, and a lighter and airier feel. This worked out really well and I never regretted our choice. Until we had Daisy of course. Now the mirrored furniture in our bedroom is frequently covered with tiny fingerprints, mysterious splatters and other assorted toddler mess. I do still enjoy having the mirrored furniture, as it is so handy for looking around the room at night, checking on Daisy, making the room feel more spacious and improving the light too. Recently I was sent the Daewoo Window Vac 12W Cordless Window Vacuum Cleaner to review and I want to let you know my thoughts on it!

Review: La Brasserie at Manor of Groves

My lovely husband and I were fortunate enough to stay at the Manor of Groves recently. This is a lovely local hotel and while there we enjoyed a meal at La Brasserie. Our meal was included in the price that we paid for our room, as we had a package booked. However, the restaurant takes booking from guests staying at the hotel and those using other facilities, including the golf course.

Review: Manor of Groves

Recently my wonderful husband and I decided that we deserved a break away. We had never both left Daisy overnight at the same time. Despite her being 16 months old! Because of this we figured that the first time we left her, with my Mum, we should make it a really good night away! We booked up a room at Manor of Groves and take a little look at what we enjoyed on our night away! Some of it at least! Just to add – we paid for our room and this isn’t a collaborative campaign. Just wanted to share for someone looking to stay!

Tesco Finest chocolate cheesecake

I am a member of the Tesco Orchard panel. As such I am fortunate in that I get frequent vouchers to try lots of wonderful Tesco products for free. The latest vouchers that I have received were for Tesco Finest desserts.

I visited the store with my husband, which meant I didn’t have complete control over what was chosen. As I’m fussy we eventually agreed to compromise and we chose a Tesco Finest chocolate cheesecake. It looked delicious and it had a fantastic 6 days on the best before.

As I had vouchers from the Tesco Orchard panel this Tesco Finest chocolate cheesecake was just £1.

Look at this Tesco Finest chocolate cheesecake…

Tesco Finest chocolate cheesecake

Despite being in very sturdy packaging the cheesecake was a little smushed. I don’t remember it being like this when I picked it up. This may have happened while driving home. The packaging was simple to open and frustration free.

The base is made from chocolate digestives. It is then topped with Belgian dark chocolate cheesecake mix. It is then topped with a chocolate ganache. Finally it is hand decorated with a scroll.

The base is just the right ratio to the rest of the cheesecake. The cheesecake mix is creamy and the ganache on the top is a rich addition. The little scroll is a cute addition and gives it a bit of a personal touch.

The serving suggestion for this Tesco Finest chocolate cheesecake is 6 but this comfortably serves at least 8. We have been eating one eighth each time we have a piece. This is rich in itself so this is a great amount for a serving. We are left feeling full without overdoing it on the chocolate front.

This is a delicious cheesecake and feels worthy of the £4 price tag. It gave us the perfect chocolate fix and was lovely to have on hand when guests visited. The use by date was long enough that we could buy with our weekly shop and it lasted for days.
