Morning. Happy Friday. Another week passes by, this one went surprisingly fast. We’ve been home for about 10 weeks now. I miss outside but I am also grateful to be safe at home. In our own space, and not stuck in a roasting hot flat anymore.
For now I’m just trying to stay safe and calm at home. As always I am always trying to take steps to make sure we are avoiding overspending on groceries.

Having a plan each week helps to keep us on track. I’m a big fan of budgeting and meal planning goes hand in hand with keeping a tight control on our food budget.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #125
I’ve planned 7 dinners this week, as we aren’t really having takeaways at the moment. I’ve also got a loose plan for lunches and breakfasts, which I don’t always do.
(*Grab £46 off your first 3 boxes)
The meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #125 are:
Crispy-skin chicken breast with mushroom vin sauce, air fryer carrots & garlic mash (Hello Fresh)
Beef fried rice with green beans and red pepper (Hello Fresh)
Pork & apple burger with rosemary wedges and rocket salad (Hello Fresh)
Mexican-style beef with crispy potato top and guacamole (Hello Fresh)
Pork steak with creamy mash and peppercorn sauce (Hello Fresh)
Slow cooker chicken curry with rice & accompaniments
Air fryer frozen fish and chips
That’s it! A nice straight forward week for us. I’m looking forward to not having to plan our meals too much and everything being measured out for me. I do love the convenience of Hello Fresh.
While you’re here why not check out my meal planning with mince post. I’ve also got a post about how to stretch a whole chicken.

My kids love chicken curry and I have discovered about three ways to make it in the slow cooker that work so that's a huge win for me, feeding them. I have never air fried chips, must try that.

Your week sounds delicious, I'm tempted to try hello fresh just to stop me reaching for a takeaway! Do you rate the quality?

I'd rate it like 8/10 overall. Sometimes the service is a bit off, and the odd item is missing, but the credits are worth it. £6 credit for a bag of spinach that was less than fresh. My delivery today is delayed by a day this week so £10 credit, which is fine but not so much if you was relying on it for dinner tonight! Some dishes have slightly fatty looking chicken but I trust the process and it's always delicious.

All the Hello Fresh meals sound so good. Ohh! Pork and apple burgers. We love those here. I usually make them from scratch. It's been so long since we had them. x

They were so tasty! I'll definitely make them again - the Hello Fresh ones were all handmade too, as so fresh!

All your meals sounds lovely. I keep thinking about ordering a hello box again as we really enjoyed what we got last time.
