Hello, Happy Friday! I can’t believe how long I have been running this meal planning linky for now. 130 weeks? Wow! This week has been a great one, lots got done around our home and we’ve had scaffolders, and roofers and all sorts here!

This week I’m going back to some meal planning of my own. We’re having a break from Hello Fresh, because I have some Simply Cook kits that need using up! You can get paid *£20 off Hello Fresh and a *FREE Simply Cook box.

I do love how convenient Hello Fresh is but I don’t want the kits I have to expire and go to waste, so I’m going to visit Lidl and do a big shop for all of the recipes I have planned.

Meal planning helps us to have low food waste which is really important to me. I feel really sad if we have to throw something in the bin, thinking of both the environmental impact and the fact that other people struggle to afford food.

I am always trying to take steps to make sure we are avoiding overspending on groceries.

Planning our meals is a great way for us to save money, stay organised and eat delicious, tasty meals. I really enjoy cooking, and love making something new at least weekly.

At the moment our meal times are one of the highlights of another day staying home together, and so I want to make sure we are enjoying nice food together.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #130

For the week ahead I’ve loosely planned breakfasts and lunches, to ensure that we have enough items in, and then we are fortunate enough to have a Hello Fresh box coming for most of our dinners which I am very grateful for.

(*Grab £46 off your first 3 boxes)

The meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #130 are:

Simply Cook: Chicken & mushroom risotto

Simply Cook: Jerk chicken with rice and beans

Simply Cook: Mexican beef quesadillas

Simply Cook: Black bean chicken with rice

Simply Cook: Sausage & fennel pasta

Simply Cook: Mexican pork one-pot with rice

Takeaway night or maybe a slow cooker beef keema curry.

That’s it! A nice straight forward week for us. I’m looking forward to not having to plan our meals too much and everything being measured out for me.

Sounds like another great week of meals. I think it's nice to mix up the kits as it saves you getting bored ! Your week reminds me of mine, when I look back over and think to myself hmmm, that's chicken and rice in various shapes and forms on most days, but nobody seems to mind or even notice, to be honest ! Love the sound of the risotto, and the quesadillas, and the black bean chicken ... well, all of it basically ! :)

It sounds like you are doing the right thing having a break from Hello Fresh. It's daft to have them go to waste. Thank you for the mention. The Simply Cook meals sound so good. I love the sound of the Jerk chicken x
