Meal planning is something that I have really come to love in recent months. Meal planning helps us avoid buying takeaways, helps us to eat healthier meals and has become an important part of my organisational week. Being able to look at a meal plan, and choose what we are going to eat, takes some of the stress away from our day.

Meal planning is surprisingly easy once you get into it. I spend about 10-15 minutes a week working on a meal plan, and writing a shopping list. The money that this saves us is well worth the time I invest.

We are saving a lot of money, especially as I have switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #39

This week I have planned 6 dinners. This leaves one day for using up leftovers or possibly eating out. We like to be a little loose with our meal planning, to try and avoid the possibility of food wastage. Also, we don’t eat our dinners on set days, as I just decide each evening which meal we will be eating the following day.

My meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #39 are:

Beef Hotpot

Bacon, mac & cheese pasta bake

Calzone with garlic bread

Fish with airfryer chips and peas

Slow cooker beef casserole with dumplings

Bolognese pasta bake

Snack: Individual flapjacks

I absolutely love my triple slow cooker. It helps me batch cook, make a separate meal for Daisy and I can even make side dishes too!

Oh! Those flapjacks looks delicious. I keep thinking about making flapjacks because I think they'd be a big hit here. Also wondering if I could make a gluten free calzone?!

You definitely can! Almost all of my recipes I also make in a gluten-free form for Daisy (whose got allergies to wheat, dairy, soya, chicken and a few other things!).

You'll probably want to use some baking powder, to help it be a little bit lighter, but it's always trial and error for me with gluten-free recipes! xx
