Meal planning is something that I have really come to love in recent months. Meal planning helps us avoid buying takeaways, helps us to eat healthier meals and has become an important part of my organisational week. Being able to look at a meal plan, and choose what we are going to eat, takes some of the stress away from our day. Today I’m sharing the Meal Planning Linky Week #44. 44 whole weeks – where is the year going?!

Day to day life can feel a little stressful at times. Like a lot of parents, I’m juggling multiple activities on a daily basis, and I’m also fitting in working from home too. Meal planning saves me time and effort and best of all it saves us money in the process!

By holding myself accountable, with a meal plan, I am making healthier choices for us. We are cutting out on the takeaways, preparing food from scratch and saving ourselves money too. I have switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi and this has helped our grocery budget too.

The Meal Planning Linky is a weekly linky. Naomi and I will be sharing our week’s meal plan and would love you to link yours up too. By sharing meal plans we can all keep ourselves accountable and inspire one another with new ideas and recipes.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #44

I’m planning 6 meals per week. This leaves 1 day a week for eating leftovers, dining out or visiting friends and family for dinner. We don’t have set days for our meals, as I prefer to decide in the morning which of the meals we want and what fits in with our day’s plans.

This weeks favourite meal plan: What’s On The Menu This Week from Pushing The Moon

My meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #44 are:

Scottish Friendly - No Spend Weekend - our calzone

Calzone + airfryer chips

A week of slow cooker dinners - Jacket-potatoes-in-the-slow-cooker-A-look-at-the-finished-result

Beef chilli + jacket potatoes in the slow cooker

Homemade Chinese (Sweet & sour chicken + rice in the slow cooker)

Sausage & apple traybake

Bacon mac and cheese

Bacon mac & cheese pasta bake

Slow cooker chicken casserole

My *triple slow cooker is really helpful when I want to make us a slow cooker dinner. I’m able to make us a main dish, a side dish and cook a separate meal for Daisy too. Most of this week’s dinners are Daisy friendly so I won’t have to do that much extra cooking for her. This is always a great week for me!

If you’re looking for meal planning inspiration then be sure to read my meal planning tips and my meal planning with mince post. I’ve also got a post about making a roast chicken go further.

I love the sound of the sausage and apple traybake – very autumnal x

Oh, I wonder if that’s where our friendly rival Kelly got the mac and cheese with bacon recipe from? It sounds lovely… and frugal too. No wonder we lost the first challenge, lol.
Great plans this week. I am hoping someone will see that there is actually a slow cooker that can make 3 dishes, and get me one. Thanks

Haha I’m not sure? It is a lovely dish, nice and stodgy too! I love my triple slow cooker but the pots are a bit small for more than 3 people x

I really shouldn’t read meal plans at this time of the day! It it making me so hungry. I could just eat the Beef chilli + jacket potatoes now! x

Haha I always do this to myself as well. I read them at breakfast time then I want all the food!

Thank you. It’s really simple and only uses a few ingredients too!

It’s So nice. So simple too. I always grate parsnips into the tray as well. I’ll have to write the review up one of these days!
