Meal planning is something that I have really come to enjoy in the last year. Meal planning helps keep us from buying so many takeaways, helps us eat healthier and has become an enjoyable part of my week. I love being able to look at a week’s meal plan, shop for the groceries and know that we have lots of nice meals to choose from.
Meal planning allows me to remove some of the stress from our daily life. I’m able to look each morning and see what food I fancy eating. Also, if we are going to be busy then I can choose a slow cooker dinner and get that on in the morning. This allows us to sit down to a hot meal with minimal effort at a busy time of day.
By holding myself accountable, with a meal plan, I am making healthier choices for us. We are cutting out on the takeaways, preparing food from scratch and saving ourselves money too. I have switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi and this has helped our grocery budget too.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #49
I’ll be planning 6 meals this week. This leaves 1 day per week for a takeaway that we will be enjoying tomorrow night. We don’t have set days for our meals, as I prefer to decide in the morning which of the meals we want and what fits in with our day’s plans.

My meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #49 are:
Gammon, chips & egg
Sausages & mash with my ultimate onion gravy
Slow cooker spaghetti bolognese
Chicken chow mein with egg fried rice
I love using my *triple slow cooker and I have been testing out making side dishes in it recently too. Most of this week’s dinners are Daisy friendly so I won’t have to do that much extra cooking for her. Apart from the nights when we have chicken.
