The Meal Planning Linky Week #51 Meal Plan

Hello! Merry Christmas! Woo! I’m so excited that Christmas week is almost upon us. I’ve got my big shop, made some of the Christmas dinner in advance and I’m looking forward to relaxing with my family. My meal plan for the week ahead is going to be very flying by the seat of my pants. I’ve bought lots of good food, and haven’t planned it for set days. I’m going to be loose with meals for a change and just enjoy eating whenever and whatever we fancy and spending time with my family. I know lots of you may still want to link up or get some inspiration, so I’m still hosting the linky over the festive period! If you don’t want to join in don’t worry, come on back in the New Year and I’ll be here as predictable as ever!

Meal planning allows me to alleviate some of the stress from my life. Knowing that we have food in for various dinners, and a range of different dinners, helps me on a day where I am having a flare-up. I love being able to look in the morning, or even the night before and decide what we are going to have for dinner. If we get busy unexpectedly then we often have a slow cooker meal on the go. Also, if you’re looking for some more inspiration be sure to check out my mealtime inspiration post with LOTS of great recipes on!

By holding myself accountable, with a meal plan, I am making healthier choices for us. We are cutting out on the takeaways, preparing food from scratch and saving ourselves money too. I have switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi and this has helped our grocery budget too.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #51

This week’s favourite meal plan: What’s cooking at the Mad house? by Madhouse Family Reviews

Normal service will resume in a weeks time – have a great Christmas everyone!

My meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #51 are:

Basically we will eat a couple of roast dinners, lots of party food and just lay around in a food coma for the next week! I hope you do too! Here is a list of some of my great recipes I’ll be using this week:

Slow cooker roast chicken

Slow cooker gammon

Airfryer roast potatoes

Homemade stuffing

Ultimate onion gravy

Shortcrust pastry recipe

I love using my triple slow cooker and I have been testing out making side dishes in it recently too. Most of this week’s dinners are Daisy friendly so I won’t have to do that much extra cooking for her. Apart from the nights when we have chicken.

If you’re looking for meal planning inspiration then be sure to read my meal planning tips and my meal planning with mince post. I’ve also got a post about making a roast chicken go further.

    Have a wonderful Christmas!
Our meal plan was a fail for the past week, we have eaten only 1 of the meals planned so far. lol and I am not planning for the next week. We are out for at least 3 meals and the rest of the time we’ll be eating party food. x
