Happy Friday! Thank you for all of your very kind messages. I’m recovering well from my surgery and starting to slowly ease myself back into work! I’ve enjoyed sitting down (last night by the time you read this) to work on a meal plan for next week. I looked at my own mealtime inspiration post full of great recipes and I have decided on really simple but tasty ones. If you’re new to meal planning then I really, really encourage you to make a start. I find it personally really freeing to know what we are having for dinner, and knowing we have the right ingredients in. This meals I can move the meals around as our family needs me to or if my energy levels are low and I want to make something simple in the slow cooker.

It doesn’t take me long to meal plan. I sit down once a week and look at what groceries we have available. Then I think about the different meals that we haven’t had recently, or look online for some inspiration. I switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi and saved over 30%! I’ve gone back and forth between the two a few times over the last couple of years. This week we are shopping at Aldi. The saving is really worthwhile for us and we are starting to find a few items that our daughter Daisy can enjoy, as she has FPIES.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #73

This week I have planned 7 dinners. I’m hoping that this will keep us away from the takeaway. I’m trying to eat well at home and save a little money too.

The meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #73 are:

Airfryer roast potatoes

Roast pork with airfryer potatoes, sage & onion stuffing, ultimate onion gravy and apple sauce!

Pizza & chicken (just from Aldi – I’m not making it this week)

Slow cooker beef chilli - A sneak peek at the end result

Slow cooker beef chilli with rice made in the slow cooker

Chilli nachos (leftover chilli) 

Easy slow cooker chicken casserole recipe

Slow cooker chicken casserole

Slow cooker chicken curry - a look at the curry once it is ready!

Slow cooker chicken curry, rice made in the slow cooker, naan & onion bhajis (buying naan/bhajis) 

Surprise dinner Thomas is going to choose in Aldi

I absolutely love my *triple slow cooker. It helps me to batch cook, make a separate meal for Daisy and I can even make side dishes too!

    It’s great to see you are back up and planning your lovely meals for your family again. It would be interesting to hear what Thomas chooses as his mystery meal. Can’t wait to hear.

    Glad to hear you are recovering! I need to look at our shopping options, I always get Tesco to deliver as after a busy week at work I can’t be bothered to go out however it bites us on the arse as the food is not always great or in stock so debating about shopping at our local Asda again going forward.

      Yes, definitely do! I was finding the same happening with Tesco so we had to keep going out and picking up bits that were not delivered so we didn’t even save time anyway!
