Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. If you follow me on Instagram you may already know that we have finally been offered a house. We’ve had a viewing, and accepted it. We’ll be moving in maybe 5-6 weeks, once the house has had some work done and is ready to go. The next few weeks I’m going to be using up what we have in, buying a few fancy ready meals to avoid the takeaway and just doing what I can to keep our spends low and avoid food waste. Meal planning helps us to stay organised and save money too. Every week I share with you my meal plan and provide an area for other bloggers to link up (see below). I love seeing what everyone is linking up meal plan wise, cooking each week and also getting inspiration for my own meal plan. I hope that this will help people to find lots of inspiration, delicious recipes and maybe read some helpful blog posts about meal planning and money saving. Don’t forget to check out my post to help you avoid overspending on your groceries.

I sit down once per week & see what groceries we have leftover from the previous week. Then I think about the different meals that we haven’t had recently, or look online for some inspiration. I then place my Tesco shop online. In the past, I switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi and saved over 30%! Lately, I have been using Tesco to shop online. It’s so convenient to click & collect the shopping and the slot I’ve been choosing is only 50p. A great way to get the shopping done, at a bargain price, and not have to spend 1 hour on it myself!

My favourite meal plan from last week was: Our weekly meal plan from Cups of Charlotte – I loved that it is lots of homely dinners and using up items already in! This is a great way to save money.

The Meal Planning Linky Week #88

This week I have planned 7 dinners. We’re going to try not to have a takeaway this week. Last week we got lazy and ate some unhealthy food. This week I’ve bought some healthier alternatives of our favourite meals, to avoid weight gain but also to keep us away fom the takeaway when we’ve got easy meals at home.

The meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #88 are:

Fish pie with veggies

Homemade onion gravy recipe

Sausage, mash & broccoli cheese – I may serve this with my ultimate onion gravy

Easy homemade garlic bread - look at the bread once it has been dressed! Delicious

Lasagne with homemade garlic bread (so easy!)

Slow cooker chicken nachos

Slow cooker chicken nachos

Sweet & sour chicken Peking style with egg fried rice, spring rolls & prawn crackers (our fakeaway!)

Pizza dough in the breadmaker

Pizza night with homemade pizza dough from a breadmaker

Sausages in a bun with air fryer wedges (A healthier, less processed version of hot dogs!)

Dessert: If there is time I’d love to make a Gluten-free cornflake tart!

I absolutely love my *triple slow cooker. It helps me to batch cook, make a separate meal for Daisy and I can even make side dishes too!

If you’re looking for meal planning inspiration then be sure to read my meal planning tips and my meal planning with mince post. I’ve also got a post about making a roast chicken go further.

If you enjoyed this post I’d love it if you could pin it on Pinterest!

It is so hard eating healthy when you are rushing around. Those nachos look amazing.

It is. Definitely trying to cut down on the takeaways!

Congrats on the house! You should totally have a virtual house warming party so we all can ‘be there’.
Hope you manage to stick with the meals you have planned. It’s such an exciting time with lots of running up and down to do and lots of ideas whizzing around in your mind!
    So chuffed for you!

Good luck with not getting a takeaway. This is what we’re trying to do this week too. I’ve spent so much money lately with the kids birthdays, I need to save some.
    Fab meal plan x

Good luck with the house prep Katy, I’m sure it is going to look amazing!

Your meals sound delicious and I am going to give our breadmaker another go with the pizza dough 🙂

Thank you! Just trying to keep on top of being super busy this month – hoping we manage it! x

Sometimes having the alternative can be as much fun. I am like you trying to avoid a takeaway this month there is so much else for the money to be spent on at the moment. I am suprised you find time to cook how busy you have been the past few weeks

It’s so easy to just splash out when you’re tired or whatever isn’t it! I’m looking forward to the big Chinese I’m going to eat in the new house once we’re settled in!
