Happy Friday! Hopefully you’ve had a great week, as I have. We’ve had a LOT of work going on at home this week, and it feels like we are making nice progress towards it being more homely here. Which is lovely! I meal plan to save money, where possible, make the most of bargains and use up everything we have in. I’m loving getting back to meal planning and really excited about normality returning to our life after a busy month. This week I want to try and ensure that we’re having absolutely minimal food waste, ideally none if possible, and to avoid expensive takeaways too. Meal planning helps us to stay organised and saves us money too. Every week I share with you my meal plan for the coming week and provide a post for other bloggers to link up (see below). I love seeing what everyone is linking up meal plan wise, cooking each week and also getting inspiration for my own meal plan too. I hope that this will help people to find lots of inspiration, delicious recipes and maybe read some helpful blog posts about meal planning and money saving. Don’t forget to check out my post to help you avoid overspending on your groceries.
I like to sit down every week, for half hour, and think about what we are going to eat on the week ahead. First I check what items we have that need using up in the fridge and then I have a rummage in the chest freezer. I often pick up the odd yellow-stickered bargain in the supermarkets or my local Co-Op so I like to make meals with those too to save some money. Then I think about the different meals that we haven’t had recently, or look online for some inspiration. I then place my Tesco shop online. In the past, I switched from shopping at Tesco to shopping at Aldi and saved over 30%! This week I had a delivery from Tesco, to stock up on some of Daisy’s favourite free-from treats. The only downside was I left it late and had to take a 10-11pm delivery slot which wasn’t ideal!

The Meal Planning Linky Week #99
This week I have planned 7 dinners. I am loving my new multi-cooker and really enjoying trying out new recipes too!
The meals for the Meal Planning Linky Week #99 are:
Chicken Cacciatore in slow cooker with rice
Frozen pizza night
Slow cooker jacket potatoes with cheese & beans
Vegetarian burgers + airfryer fries
Slow cooker vegetarian casserole (made using my slow cooker chicken casserole recipe that has been modified to be vegetarian!)
Chicken in black bean sauce (pressure cooker recipe I hope!) with egg fried rice
As you can see we are trying to have more vegetarian meals. Not only is this cheaper but it is healtheir and better for the environment too. We’re trying to make small changes and have at least 1 vegetarian meal per week.
