AD – Gifted. I love that my daughter is able to eat solid food now. We have been able to sit and enjoy lots of meals together and I don’t feel so restricted in my food choices now. Daisy is dairy free so at times it feels like finding the perfect food is a little more difficult for us. Despite this I have been moving forward with baby led weaning.
There are still times when I feed Daisy, for convenience, but most of the time she feeds herself. Today I am sharing with you my Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit review. We kindly received this item for free in exchange for this review, although all opinions are my own.
Obviously it is fantastic to be able to let Daisy feed herself. This is more convenient, gives me a few minutes to potter around nearby and teaches her life skills too. The one thing that I don’t like about baby led weaning, or mealtimes in general, is the mess!
Our review of the Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit
The Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit has been designed by a Mum, Jennifer Unsworth. Jennifer has 3 children and wanted to combat the mess that surrounds mealtimes.
This has been achieved by having a coverall bib that attaches to a large tray. The tray attaches to your highchair so it protects your baby’s clothes, the highchair tray and the straps of the highchair.
I don’t know about other parents but I feel like the straps of the highchair are the bane of my life sometimes. I seem to spend 10 minutes a day scrubbing them because they need to be used for safety.
My initial thoughts when I opened this was how small it folds down. It is definitely convenient for taking to other people’s houses and you can either wipe it over or give it a machine wash.
So far I have found that just wiping it over is sufficient and I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now.
Daisy loves using her Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit
Daisy loves getting into her coverall bib and getting ready for her mealtime. The bib is simple to attach to the tray. The sleeves are easy to put over Daisy’s chubby arms – even with layers of clothes. The velcro sticks in place and holds. I’ve had no issues at all with this coming apart.
The best thing about the Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit for me is just the convenience of it. Now when Daisy has finished her meal I can just wipe her face and hands. Then she is ready for the rest of the day.
The highchair isn’t caked in mess and I can just take the coverall bib over to the sink and give it a wipe. I then leave it on the draining board, although it doesn’t really need draining. The actual mat itself, that covers the highchair is super easy to wipe over.
To give this a real test Daisy enjoyed peppers, peri peri chicken and sweetcorn. The Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit was clean in about 45 seconds and the velcro was still perfectly clean too.
I can give Daisy a selection of different foods and textures and let her decide what she wants to do.
We have been using the Tidy Tot Bib and Tray Kit for a couple of weeks now and absolutely love it. It is a real godsend at mealtimes. It means Daisy can get as messy as she likes and the clean up is quick and easy.
I no longer have to pick up soggy rice cakes or mashed banana from the highchair seat. There are never any old bits of food waiting to touch me when I’m strapping Daisy in to her chair.
Daisy is a real fusspot when getting ready. Getting her to wear the coverall bib is simple. It takes just a few seconds, has elasticated cuffs and the velcro tightens around her neck comfortably and fast.
