AD. Having a weekend away with children might be a phrase that fills you with a little bit of dread. Once you have children it feels like there are at least 150 items that are essentials. This continues on regardless of the age of your child and as they get older they have their own opinions on what the essentials are too. One way that you can cut down on the amount of stress a holiday brings is by enjoying a weekend away. If you book a weekend that is tailored to the needs of your children then they can be kept occupied and you can have a relaxing break away from home at the same time. I’m a real fan of a break at Centerparcs so these are a few suggestions for your next weekend away with children.
Take a trip to Centerparcs for a weekend away with children
I absolutely love Centerparcs – even more so now that we have a daughter of our own. We often visit Centerparcs and we love the range of activities that they have on offer. There are activities from children of all ages, from 0 upwards. We have taken our young daughter to sensory classes and swimming lessons. We’ve also watched our nieces and nephews take part in go-karting, quad biking, wall climbing and much more.
With many great locations throughout the UK, and Europe, Centerparcs has lots to offer – even if you just have a weekend spare. Weekend breaks run from Friday – Monday so you can even fit them in around school term times. When travelling to Centerparcs in Europe don’t forget your European Health Insurance Card.
Have your child participate in football tournaments with school
If your child is a budding footballer then school football tournaments are a great way to build on their skills. There are tournaments available for girls and boys. There are a wide variety of travel and accommodation options so you can watch your child taking part in a football tournament and explore parts of Europe in the process.
You are often able to travel with your child and there are literally 100s available throughout the year to suit all ages and abilities.
Enjoy a weekend of sightseeing
If you fancy something a different then why not consider a weekend away with children to go sightseeing. You can travel to a European destination in a matter of hours – after school if need be. This leaves you the weekend free for sightseeing. Then you can head home on Sunday evening ready for the school run Monday. If you need some inspiration then check out this list of UK attractions that your children will love visiting.
A weekend away with children needn’t be stressful. You can keep your children occupied for the weekend. This may help you to cut down on the number of items you need to pack. If you want to have a contingency plan then just load up your car and head off to Centerparcs. You can stay in fully equipped lodges, complete with wi-fi, to give your children everything they could wish for.
