What I’ve been reading – October 2017 edition

I’ve been trying to find more time for reading recently. It is hard to fit everything in sometimes, being a parent, wife and working hard on my own life goals. Being able to take 10-15 minutes a day to have a read is a great way to wind down before bed. I also love nothing more than a good soak in the tub and a good book. Each month I’ve been sharing some of my favourite books, and mentioning the odd one that I really didn’t enjoy..!

What I’ve been reading & loved

The author of this book kindly sent it to me. I’ve really enjoyed reading it this month, and practicing some of the exercises within. I feel like my own confidence is increasing and I am learning to deal with my fear over becoming more successful. As I recently wrote about my definition of success, and issues I’ve faced, so receiving this book this was fitting timing.

Let me start by saying you would be wasting your money to buy this as a paperback. For 99p on Kindle it is well worth the money. I had a bit of a laugh at the stupidity of some of the people featured in this book. This is basically a book full of tweets from a parody Asda customer service account.

What I’ve been reading and have not loved

Just couldn’t get into this. I’m not sure why. I gave it a go a couple of times but think I’ll leave it until the New Year now. You know, New Year New Me. Or something like that!

What I’m planning on reading next

Good Food: Traybakes – Always loving a cookbook!

Thrifty Tweets: Save money, make money and live cheap with these short tips – I like the idea of the short tweets being ideal to just have a little glance at.

I meant to get around to reading these two books this month but I didn’t have much time.

Got a suggestion of a great book for me? Why not leave me a comment or send me a message over on Twitter. I’m always interested in new books, and trying to improve myself in the process.

I’ve tried to get into 4 Hour Work Week a few times too and I can never manage to get more than 20 pages in. I think it’s the hype about it that makes me want to read, but my brain just ain’t having it

Yeah I’m having the same problem. I even gave it another go and still no joy!

I think I’d struggle with all of these, I like something with a great story line either chilling and gruesome or soppy and funny at the end of the day to help me forget about what I’m doing in real life. #triedtested

Maybe this is where I am going wrong recently! Time to get back in to the chicklit possibly!

I’m currently reading a biography of Adele – not sure why but it’s easy enough!
Thanks for sharing your review on #TriedTested this week x
