Make your dough and leave it to rise in a warm place, for at least 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into two, to make two calzones.
Roll your dough out like pizza dough, into a large circle.
Dress half the dough with tomato puree/homemade pizza sauce and the toppings of your choice. I personally like chorizo, ham, mushrooms & peppers. Then I add cubes of mozzarella.
Fold the dough over on to itself.
Crimp the edges. I use a fork as it gives the desired effect in seconds.
Brush the outside with melted butter if you want to. I usually skip this to save time.
Cook at gas mark 6 (200C) for around 20 minutes. I use both shelves and swap them over halfway through. It's ready when the dough is brown.
There are so many options for fillings for this easy calzone recipe. You could use your favourite pizza toppings or you could just fill it with chocolate spread and marshmallows. Yum!
