Ingredients

  • 300 g potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • Salt & pepper
  • Spray oil I used sunflower but you can use whatever you like!

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel potatoes.
  2. Boil water, add salt.
  3. Cook potatoes for 10-12 minutes, until tender.
  4. Meanwhile, peel and finely dice the onion.

  5. Fry in spray oil until lightly browned. Add a little brown sugar for a caramelised onion finish. Remove from the heat once cooked.

  6. Remove potatoes and place in ice water or place in cold water and leave to cool.
  7. Grate potatoes. If desired you can use a muslin cloth to replace any excess water. I didn't bother and they were still delicious!

  8. Gently mix together the onion and grated potato.

  9. Add salt & pepper.

  10. Shape into your desired shape.

  11. Cook in airfryer on 180-200C for 8-10 minutes until they reach your preferred brownness. To make them an extra crunchy spray with oil halfway through cooking time and turn over to ensure both sides get even coverage of the spay oil.
