Recently I was offered the chance to receive a gift voucher from the lovely people at Zeek, to allow me to review their service. All views are my own.
Zeek is a fantastic mobile app that allows you to buy and sell gift cards. If you have an unwanted gift card, perhaps from Christmas or your Birthday, then they allow you to sell your gift card, at a discounted price, and Zeek will charge you £3 for processing the sale. Sales often go through instantly, or almost instantly, and this is a great way to make back some money if you have a gift card that you cannot utilise.
If you want to buy a gift card then you can receive a significant discount when you buy a gift card from Zeek.
For example I could buy a £100 Forever21 gift card for just £75. This is a fantastic saving and even bigger savings can be made by using TopCashBack. As well as saving 25% on the gift card there is another 5.25% to be received by using TopCashBack. The gift card can be redeemed in the same way as a standard gift card so it is even possible to use voucher codes, special offers or buy items in the sale to make a further saving.
Personally I chose to order a £50 Sainsburys gift card. It cost me £48.50. Now this is only a 3% saving, however, it is still a saving! As I can use this gift card to buy items in my local supermarket, at reductions time, I can make significantly larger savings when I use it in store. I’m actually planning on using this gift voucher, during October, to take part in a £100 grocery challenge that I am going to set myself. Now I’ll only need £97.00 and will have saved myself £3. This soon adds up and I’m going to aim to just use 2 x £50 gift cards for the entire month.
Overall I have found the Zeek service really useful. The gift card I ordered was for offline use and was delivered within 7 working days. The gift card was delivered by Royal Mail signed for, to ensure that it arrived to me safely, and I did not have to spend any extra on this either. When I wasn’t home the gift card was taken to my local sorting office for safe collection when I got home from my holiday.
While I made a small saving, compared to some of the other people who got the same voucher, I’ve been really pleased. 3% is still a saving and it is enough to make me buy more gift cards in the future. There are significantly bigger savings to be had on a variety of brands including Forever21, Hungry House, Tesco, Mango, Karen Millen, Waterstones, Marks & Spencer, H Samuel, Ted Baker, Starbucks and many more. A lot of the savings are around 10% which is significant and there are new vouchers/gift cards added at various times of the day.
When you want to buy and sell gift cards Zeek make the process so much more straightforward. They have a huge customer base already, just waiting to snap up bargains, and you can save yourself money too. If you are selling a gift card then the fee is £3 usually, so while this is expensive to you on a £10 gift card you have to think about whether it is better to have a few pounds back or have a gift card that you have no use for. With larger gift cards obviously the money that you lose is a much smaller percentage.
Want to get yourself £5 FREE towards a gift card?
By using my exclusive code when you sign up you will receive £5 FREE towards your next gift card. Please note that a minimum charge of £1 applies, which helps confirm your identity. For example if you redeem for a £5 gift card you will receive £4 FREE and pay £1. However, if you buy a £10 gift card you will receive £5 FREE towards it and pay the other £5 by your preferred payment method.
I’ve been really pleased with Zeek, as any saving on groceries is a great saving to me, and I will be continuing to use them in the future.
