Hello! I’m Katy, or Katykicker as most people know me online. This page is an opportunity for my readers to get to know me a little better.
Who is Katykicker?
I am a 32-year-old wife and mother. I’m married, to Thomas, and we have been together since 2007. We met when we worked together and were engaged in just 6 short months!
Thomas remarks from time to time that I don’t talk about him enough! So I wrote 10 things I love about my husband. Thomas is my rock, he supported me when I decided to quit my job back in 2013 when I was unhappy. He always sticks by me when I’m making slightly mad decisions and he has 100% unwavering confidence in me.
We got married back in 2011 and we have enjoyed almost a decade of married life already. I look forward to Thomas coming home from work, even after all these years, and we are strong. We’ve had a few bumps along the way in our relationship, and our lives, but we are tough together and love spending time together.
After seven long years of infertility, we finally have a daughter – Daisy Blue, born in March 2016. Daisy took so long to arrive that she feels even more precious to us, although I’m sure everyone who has a child after any length of time feels the same. Daisy is 4 and the time is flying by! We also have another daughter due in Spring 2021!
Our journey to have our daughter was a stressful one, followed by a stressful pregnancy and a dramatic birth. We are so blessed to have our little girl now and I love featuring her in posts on my blog. I also love to share lots of photographs of Daisy over on my Instagram.
Why did I start Katykicker?
Back in 2013 I was working a job I detested. One day I rang my husband upset to say that I was hating my job and I really wanted to come home, permanently. He offered to cover the bills and support me while I worked out what I wanted to do.
Fast forward 7 years and I now work for myself, full-time, earning a decent (ish) income. I am able to reward my husband for his faith in me with a car, nice holidays, gifts and by generally having more financial security than we ever have before with savings in premium bonds.
I started writing Katykicker because I was making money online and people wanted to know how. People do still constantly message me, asking for help, which I don’t mind but now I have somewhere to direct them!
I’m so happy knowing that I am able to share money making and saving websites and tips with my readers. I also love to share product reviews, frugal recipes, the odd craft and much more. I love being able to write about my life and help people in the process.
Katykicker has evolved to be so much more than just another money blog, and I’m more than just a UK money blogger! I love sharing my whole life with my readers – the highs and lows – and I’m always online to chat, offer support and share in the lives of my readers too.
Where does the ‘Katykicker’ part come from?
This is a very, very old nickname that was given to me. I had a pair of black boots, that I loved, with pointy toes. One day I was showing my boots off to someone and accidentally kicked them in the eye! Ever since I’ve used the name on a variety of websites and it has stuck with me for more than 20 years now. I’ve even trademarked it!
I also help people kick debt into touch, and offer ideas to other people who want to make and save money in a variety of ways.
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope that you’ve found a useful way to make and save money, read about matched betting or just generally browsed to see what I have recently reviewed. If you’re interested in working together, or just want to drop me a message, please visit my Contact page.
